Is the midyear goal evaluation a time suck?

Is the midyear goal evaluation a time suck?

Well today is the end of July so we have officially used up more than half of the year. So now we begin to hear the standard questions. Are you on track? Are you meeting your goals? Are there any changes needing to take place to ensure you reach the results you were planning on? And the list goes on and on.

Though to be honest many of these questions are helpful. It is beneficial to look at how this year is progressing. In truth a little evaluation is in order to ensure that the end of the year does not become a surprise or a panicked reality. Taking the time to look at where we are and how things are progressing can be not the irritating and frustrating few days it often has been but instead a moment to let in a little light and a breath of air into what can become a closed list of activities and events.

So try and take the time to consider just how this year is progressing. How are your plans turning out? Are there a couple of minor adjustments you could implement that could cause the end of the year to end up being less stressful? Are there any goals that have become irrelevant and no longer a valid use of time and resources? Have some plans not just floundered but become a total failure? Taking the time now can become a great blessing later if we approach these questions with an attitude that perceives there benefit rather than just noticing the time they appear to steal from your already busy day.

Blessings
