Spent air: the problem with blogging

The problem with blogging is that you must produce content and that results with a need to produce when you have nothing to say. But write you must so write we do. This writing with nothing to say fills pages and pages on media sight after media sight. Articles filled with words with no content, just words. This is also the reason we read pages of news that have no point nor do they have any facts to go with their amazing conclusions.

You might ask “have you ever been guilty of this?” The answer I must give is yes. The demand to just produce is present just to keep your name visible. Honestly though how many people have you and I stopped following or reading because of these very articles that lack value? Honestly there are sites I barley glance at due to the prolific content of these empty posts and blogs.

The problem with blogging is the need to be present. This same problem exists in advertising and can be present in leadership. We speak with nothing to say simply because we are expected to say something. Words are spoken or written that fail to carry the value associated with the person speaking or writing, and result not in “face recognition” but in loss.

Sure there are times when what was written or spoken just missed the mark, which is the simple reality of being human. Since it is necessary to write or speak as leaders and bloggers be sure to have something to say. But if we don’t, if we honestly don’t, take the day off. I personally would rather wait and read something with content than just see your name in print over “spent air”.
