There is a Way

There is a Way

068fadf9.jpg

I was reading a post by a young angry man who simply wanted a better world. He wants to live in a place where people have a chance to enjoy life. His desire is for a world where everybody has the same opportunities. He doesn’t care if you are male or female, black or white, Christian or Muslim or even if you are none of the above, he simply wants a world of peace and a semblance of hope.

The problem is he has no understanding of one simple reality, the depravity of man. Scattered throughout the comments were responses implying the futility of his desires for various reasons, most of which were based on the fact that man does not have his neighbor’s best interests in mind. The young man who wrote the post responded with let’s find a way. The way that young man seeks was sent just over 2000 years ago but it seems he will never find it since he currently only looks to the future.

Jesus came to give this young man exactly what he is asking for. Jesus came not to offer global unity and peace, that will come when He returns, He came to give hope. Jesus came to offer a better way where a man might love his neighbor and seek to build up the fallen. Jesus came to make love the foundation of a lifestyle, a love that ignores gender and origins.

This angry young man wants what Jesus came to bring but has yet to understand that there is truly only one way to obtain it. Man cannot bring about global peace; there will always be a war and injustice if man is in control. Jesus came that we might have a better way and a true answer. Hope, Peace and Joy based not on our power and abilities but based on His.

We each in our own way do desire a better word, we each desire answers to the questions that keep us up at night. Those answers exist but they do not come from what is natural in man. If they were I expect we might have come across them by now.

Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, have an excellent holiday season
