2016 Kia Soul EV
Pros : constituted drive, larger indoor, rich with features
Cons : compromised back seat, minor range, not sold in every states
The 2016 Kia Soul EV with limited practicality is confirmed only by its relatively debased requesting low price value while function is relational. Kia’s electric car is an electron-powered pack equine. As mobility form the Soul EV still has a structural and functional insufficiency. Its 27-kWh battery pack is good for an EPA-rated riding range of just 93 miles, two miles acceptable as 93 miles on a solo charge is enough for most Americans, thinking that the normal commuter here steers less than 30 miles each day, matching to the U.S. Transport Division. Soon there is $37,495 Chevrolet Bolt with 238 mile range.
Soul is not of same potential as of the Bolt, the Soul EV is a digressive electric-car option for most Americans as Kia will be limiting sales in 10 states as California, Connecticut, Georgia, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Texas, and Washington. Odd as this may seem, such a sales strategy is nothing brand-new in the world of electric vehicles, with many other automaker adopts similar approach. This is usually done to comply with single state standards thinking the arrangement of zero-emission vehicles (ZEVs).
The Kia Soul EV doesn’t feel as if it has been converted to run on electricity merely for the benefit of jumping through a restrictive skeleton. Where some oppositions, such as the Ford Focus Electric, uses cargo space to fit battery pack, the Soul EV’s merchandise location loses no utility matched with its gasoline-powered equivalent.
The Soul EV can happily consume as much as 50 cubic feet of merchandise with its 60/40-split rear seat folded down and 19 cubic feet with all seats in place. The Soul EV also has retention space below its merchandise floor. Outside, there are few qualities between the EV and the standard Soul. Perceptive eyeballs will notice disparate lights and lamps, a disparate set of 16 inch wheels, couple of charging ports one used for AC, other for DC fast charging.
Takes less than five hours using 240 volt for full charge, while is likely to consume one day if charged using 120 volt.
Meanwhile, a 50-kW DC connection takes 35 minutes to charge upto 80 percent battery. Exciting the Soul doesn’t come without phenomenon, though, the floor-mounted battery pack consumes a good amount of rear foot area. With more than three inches of rear legroom lost, the spirit EV’s rear rooms are less long-haul friendly than those in the standard car, while rear seat remains cozy and front-seat space is uncompromised. The compartment mirrors that of the base Soul, a car we like a lot.
