Buick Velite Concept
Some 12-plus years ago, the Buick Velite convertible made its entry at the 2004 New York auto show. That idea never went anywhere, but now the tri-shield brand has acted the wraps off another show vehicle having the name Velite. Uncovered at the Guangzhou auto show in China, the current Buick Velite is a four-door crossover that the brand calls a model for time alternative-energy automobiles it ideas to make.
While the Velite’s name may sounding a bell for those with a preternaturally tough memory of Buick show automobiles, the styling is more of an instantly acquainted assemblage of design cues from today’s crossover SUVs. Beyond the winged opening which is spreading throughout the Buick roll the design, from the boomerang-shaped LED headlights to the multitude of busy body formations, strikes us as small more than a mashup of components that could have come off a BMW, an Infiniti, a Mercedes-Benz or a Toyota.
