NeuroSurge - The cutting edge of wellness, performance and leadership enhancement

In 1992 I pioneered an application based on the integration of the neurosciences with the developing science of psychoneuro-immunology (PNI) – the scientific study of the mind-immune connection. The application was driven by the need to identify and quantify parameters which enhanced wellness, performance and leadership. Fundamental to the application was a proposed model based on an evaluation of the full range of behavioral attributes and recognizable determinants in the context of the nurture dynamic. Following a detailed study of degrees of deprivation of neonatal and infant needs, three Archetypes were defined. The model, which is referred to as the Neuro-Triangles Model, was completed in 2006 with the incorporation of the relevant chemical configurations associated with each Archetype. Each Archetype therefore consists of a determining nurture heritage, inherent processing traits, values, needs, beliefs and drives as well as a chemical configuration.

In 2010 I compiled an online Neuro-Diagnostic which was programmed to comprehensively profile users in terms of their levels of personal gratification, self-esteem, self-worth, self-efficacy, purposefulness as well as potential in terms of leadership and entrepreneurship. The data supporting the Neuro-Diagnostic was derived from numerous case studies. In effect, the Neuro-Diagnostic provides an accurate snap-shot of all prevailing drives, fears and potential limiting beliefs. Several studies including Masters degrees have been undertaken to evaluate the validity of the Neuro-Diagnostic. In a study performed in 2010, a direct correlation was found between the three Archetypes and meta-program psychometrics. A later study validated the Archetypes in the context of illness predisposition (2011). The Neuro-Triangles Model has also been validated as a means of profiling degrees of effective leadership and entrepreneurship (2012).

The Neuro-Diagnostic is fully quantified. This quantification is also used to generate the mean percentage effectiveness of the individual and of the work team/unit (Corporate Efficacy Index – CEI). In this way, both the individual and the work team/unit and indeed the entire company can be quantified and tracked. Derived from this diagnostic are four further indices – GRAT (representing personal gratification); RES (representing self-efficacy, self-esteem and resilience); WORTH – (representing self-worth/value contribution); HOS-I (hostility index). These can be generated for the individual and can also be used to generate the mean for the group. They can also be tracked for the individual and for the group thus providing valuable insight into evolving trends and challenges emerging at the workplace.

A recent review of our data has shown a strong correlation of the fully quantified Neuro-Diagnostic with illness risk. A low CEI score for the individual therefore raises the risk of developing a medical diagnosis.

The application is used both in the clinical environment as well as in the corporate space. The Neuro-Diagnostic has become an invaluable tool for accredited coaches and psychotherapists who are now able to quantify and track the ‘unquantifiables’ and have a direct influence on the prevention of illness, both emotional and somatic. Illness prevention is based on the PNI link of mind states with immune function. Effective neuro-coaching (termed neuromodulation) therefore modulates mind states to diminish chronic inflammation – the source of more that eighty percent of illnesses (cardiovascular, neurodegenerative and cancer). The application therefore heralds a new holistic paradigm in regard to the effective management of mental, emotional and somatic illness. All products and applications are developed, facilitated and sold by NeuroSurge. This includes supportive texts, articles, workbooks and the online Neuro-Diagnostic. Accredited workshops are also facilitated several times per year for medical and para-medical professionals, therapists and coaches. A comprehensive online certification course is also available – see http://www.neuronostic.com/?page=certcourse

Very interesting Ian Weinberg, do you have many professionals using this in the US at this time? Kudos to you for all the work/research and development you've accomplished.

Jared \ud83d\udc1d Wiese There's a lot of animal studies done where nurture was interrupted. This resulted in significant increases in cortisol levels in the infants which contributed to deprivation syndromes. Similar observations in humans - children in orphanages have very high cortisol levels and significant deprivation issues. One of my patients is a great success story in having markedly improved his Parkinson's disease without drugs (all his own volition) - on the basis of perseverance and enhancing neuroplasticity (growing new neuronal branches and connections). Try and get his book - his name is John Pepper. A great inspiration.

So the healing process is purely linguistic in nature? Also, does it cover all of the aforementioned conditions? Fascinating topic btw

Deb \ud83d\udc1d Helfrich The diagnostic has 4 sections. Each quantifies a different facet of the individual i.e. the way we structure our lives in terms of work, personal and recreation and the gratification we experience in each; self-esteem, self-efficacy, resilience (the stongest connection to nurture influences); our subjective view of self-worth and value contribution in the work space; our leadership and entrepreneurship potential. This is all quantified and termed the CEI - but it incorporates a lot more than just the work space. So CEI is probably not the best term. The automated comparison of the CEI before and after intervention is referred to as the Triangular Index. The online certification course is designed very much for the lay public. In includes an online auto-coaching template. So it's very much a wellness and performance enhancing application for the individual. I'm very happy to set up a complimentary online program for you personally Deb (the complete program including narrated slide show, auto-coaching template, books etc), so that you can evaluate the application first hand.
