Connections through passions: new people with common interests

Good morning bees. Let's go deeper into the beBee's concept, which is very important.

beBee is not a professional directory of resumes where users are required to pay for basic services and are contacted constantly by others trying to recruit or solicit them. beBee is focused on user experience, open (twitter model), 100% free for users, and relevant ( passion and common interest-based content and connections to new people ).

Our mission is to create a professional world more open and connected.  Next beBee will give you all the features you need to be connected: instant messaging, video conferencing, others,,,... and all of them for free !

bebee is about professional connections and networking through passions and common interests. Connections through passions create more professional engagement and deeper and more successful business relationships.

Connections through passions: new people with common interests

Connecting with people is important to what I do, and you can learn a lot about a person, and from a person, on the bike.

TRADITIONALLY, business associates would get to know each other over a round of golf. But road cycling is fast catching up as the preferred way of networking for the modern professional.

Mr Lorraine estimates that as much as 75% of the practice's workload (around 45 projects) has come directly or indirectly from contacts made through his passion.

Business and work, are about people, after all.
I know of two examples relevant to the discussion:
I saw a job advertisement in a local paper for a Secretary/PA to the CEO of a large construction firm. It gave a list of the skills required, but ended saying "An interest in art would help"
Another example is when the building contractor I was working for hired an Estimator. He went through a lengthy process of interviews and references etc, and was finally taken on. Soon after, he had a conversation with the CEO, and they discovered a mutual passion for cricket. (The CEO had owned a cricket club at one time) The CEO exclaimed "Why didn't you tell me about your love of cricket during your interviews? We could have dispensed with all that!"

@Javier beBee - YES! I went to an American Marketing Association (AMA) meeting last night. As I explained beBee to several people, I kept repeating the similar message -- everyone is much more than a "Job Title" -- we all have our personal passions, and so why not connect using this very human trait?
