Desventajas de trabajar con tu pareja / Disadvantages of working with your partner (BF/GF)
Read in english below:
Para los que aún pensáis que es positivo trabajar con tu pareja, expongo una serie de desventajas que he visto a lo largo de mi trayectoria profesional.
1.- No tienes privacidad
2.- Surgen los celos y envidias
3.- Siempre hablan de lo mismo
4.- Tienen que esconderse
5.- Demasiadas quejas
For those who still think that working with your partner is a good idea, I’ll give you a long list of disadvantages that I have seen throughout my career.
1. You have no privacy
At least eight hours a day are spent at the office together. If you are a person that enjoys your space, eventually it will become complicated and unbearable, even going out to eat together will lose its charm.
2. Jealousy and envy will crop up.
Problems arise, jealousy and envy, whether professional or personal, or favoritism from the boss, or favoritism of co-workers, ..... and much worse if your partner is the boss, or your colleague is the boss’s partner, then it's the worst of situations as a nest of the appearance of this jealousy and envy.
3. You always talk about the same thing
Colleagues, work tasks, conflicts at work, almost inevitably become the focus of conversations, and this energy carries over into the relationship because you never disconnect.
4. You have to hide
Many companies have workplace dating policies, so you have to be very discreet to avoid being reprimanded or fired. But also, in the long run it can be uncomfortable to be unable to reveal to your friends who your partner is. I know many companies, especially large ones, who do not like the idea of office relationship, and in my humble view, rightly so.
5. Too many complaints
By working together you’ll learn things about your partner that you do not like about their professional side, it can be troublesome for their work, colleagues and boss; It will damage the relationship to the breaking point.
The reality is that everyone who works with their partner says they’re charming or easy to get along with- perhaps they are working in another building ? :-), but it’s normal that this situation would be a source of problems, and over time you’ll realize that it has also created problems among your team members. It’s just plain common sense. There is a saying very tough and rude but wise saying " Don't shit where you eat "
Which is our opinion and experience ? :-)
