Like a Rolling Stone - Bob Dylan

Once upon a time you dressed so fine
Threw the bums a dime in your prime, didn't you?
People call say 'beware doll, you're bound to fall'
You thought they were all kidding you
You used to laugh about
Everybody that was hanging out
Now you don't talk so loud
Now you don't seem so proud
About having to be scrounging your next meal
How does it feel, how does it feel?
To be without a home
Like a complete unknown, like a rolling stone
Ahh you've gone to the finest schools, alright Miss Lonely
But you know you only used to get juiced in it
Nobody's ever taught you how to live out on the street
And now you're gonna have to get used to it
You say you never compromise
With the mystery tramp, but now you realize
He's not selling any alibis
As you stare into the vacuum of his eyes
And say do you want to make a deal?
How does it feel, how does it feel?
To be on your own, with no direction home
A complete unknown, like a rolling stone
Ah you never turned around to see the frowns
On the jugglers and the clowns when they all did tricks for you
You never understood that it ain't no good
You shouldn't let other people get your kicks for you
You used to ride on a chrome horse with your diplomat
Who carried on his shoulder a Siamese cat
Ain't it hard when you discovered that
He really wasn't where it's at
After he took from you everything he could steal
How does it feel, how does it feel?
To have on your own, with no direction home
Like a complete unknown, like a rolling stone
Ahh princess on a steeple and all the pretty people
They're all drinking, thinking that they've got it made
Exchanging all precious gifts
But you better take your diamond ring, you better pawn it babe
You used to be so amused
At Napoleon in rags and the language that he used
Go to him he calls you, you can't refuse
When you ain't got nothing, you got nothing to lose
You're invisible now, you've got no secrets to conceal
How does it feel, ah how does it feel?
To be on your own, with no direction home
Like a complete unknown, like a rolling stone

#15 Hey Gerry and Bob...dyu know of someplace i cd download some midis of his songs that i could sing over and record? Too late in the day for me to learn to play and sing at the same time...though i did buy a capo the other week and know how to strum Tambourine Man a bit with the 6th E lowered to a D and the Capo on the third...yeah well and am seriously workin on that singin thru the nose bit too... :)...for i do not consider myself a singer an singin thru the nosey would set the record straight!

Waiting for SIR Bob Dylan to happen! A minstrel, a social-realist, a poet and a writer, a chronicler of his times, an expressionist and a musical maverick. I am sure he never calls himself a singer! ;) And all those who think that he cannot sing are looking at the wrong side of Bob. It's the dark side of the moon that holds all the secrets! :) Look at him here...in this song i could listen to this one all day without getting sick...he still has that innocent child-like charm by the Sainted Knights! Er...do not ask What Katy Did! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U4zlA6NoSVE

#14 @Robert Bacal well --maybe I should sing when I feel like it anyway; it must be a human ability. I wonder if the pericardial infection effected his voice; I always hear him doing new tricks with it; I so look forward to hearing it change

#12 That's funny, @Gerald Hecht Sorry, no voice lessons. In fact, due to long years of smoking, since abandoned, and dis-use, my singing voice is not very good. And I never learned to use that particular instrument properly, which btw is a bad thing when you do public speaking and training sessions for a living BTW thanks for the update on his illness. I'd forgotten the details.

#11 @Robert Bacal oh...one thing ; real quick--he had an infection of the pericardium; it was strange because the culprit was histoplasmosis which usually doesn't do that to folks; anyway, if you could let me know how much you charge (per hour I guess) for vocal lessons; that would be something I would consider!

#11 @Robert Bacal I wish I knew all of the technical aspects of singing; do you give voice lessons by any chance? I don't know if I afford such a luxury--but I've always wanted to give singing a try. Frequently.... I feel like singing
