Do you enjoy experimenting things even if it means you will experience crashes and bugs? If yes, here’s a good news for you! Instagram recently launched an Alpha testing program that works on both IOS and Android platforms. The program is meant for those who want to test pre-release versions of its popular photo-sharing apps. If you are one of the strong admirers, then this alpha texting programs on iOS and Android might make your heart happy.
Being a developer, I am sure that you must be well aware regarding the fact that Instagram has actually been rolling out a beta program for a number of years already. And soon basic aspects like account switching, archiving photos, multi-photo posts, comment replies have become an important part of how we make use and navigate the app, new alpha testing will be in use at any moment in a while.
According to the company- The newly launched Alpha program will offer a different version of the app to testers that is available to Beta testers, however, so users may get to test features that never even make it to the next step up, much less the wider public.
The news of Android Alpha program’s launch was initially caught by the site Android Police, right after spotting a post from an Instagram employee. The post was all about soliciting participants for the program by offering a link to join. Although, till now Instagram hasn’t made any formal announcement about its availability, so its existence is new information to many.
We recently introduced Alpha programs for our iOS and Android versions of Instagram in addition to the Beta program we’ve had on Android for a while,” they said. These programs are “a great way to collect feedback from the community,”- According to Instagram spokesperson.
Overall, testing programs aren’t meant to be kept as a secret but at the same time, they aren’t advertised on the broader basis. For those who are interested in joining Alpha and groups like beta, need to know where to look for them. For example- by signing up for test builds of apps on the Google Play Store or any other option.
In order to join the program;

However, IOS program is not taking any additional requests to join at this time. It may even interest you to know that Instagram is not the only Facebook app with a testing program. Facebook even launched its own pre-release program back in 2013. And other major tech companies including Twitter, Google, run programs of their own, as well.
