This Is My Last Post On Donald Trump. I Guarantee You It Is, Folks…Trust Me.

TTT MOCKS REPORTER WITH DISABILITY | oN |

“Donald Trump has stopped being funny. He’s stopped being outrageous. He’s stopped being politically incorrect. He’s just downright dangerous.”
Larry Wilmore, Host, The Nightly Show

I have a friend who is a genuine Conservative. He’s in politics and has recently run for a federal seat in a suburb of Toronto.
One night, over coffee, he explained the whole Conservative ethos to me, me being a fairly non-political lefty. And you know what? It made real sense.
Not enough to turn me into a card carrying Conservative, but more than enough to respect the ideology as a small business owner and a minor league capitalist.
This lesson was given to me well ahead the US presidential primaries. Which was cool, because I was armed with a good frame of reference with which to evaluate the huge herd of Republican presidential hopefuls that was traipsing around the country trying to win over all the disgruntled Americans who believed that Barack Obama was the worst (2 time) president in the history of America. Irony abounds.
Well, the long and short of it was that almost immediately I came away completely mystified. Was my friend bullshitting me? Had to be. Because I only saw two types of candidate here. There were wimps and there were crazies. And neither type had anything to do with the Conservative ethos my friend was espousing.
I kept thinking, where the hell are the real Conservatives? The people who made the Republican party the Party of Lincoln? They were nowhere to be seen.

The Trumpanzee…Who Knew?

And right in the middle of all this was this smart-ass real estate developer/reality show star named Trump. Drawing the big crowds on the conservative side and the big laughs from all the comedians on the liberal side.
Well it only went downhill from there. I went from being curious to completely mystified to downright pissed off. How the hell did Donald Trump get so popular? The guy is probably the biggest asshole billionaire on the planet. He’s a cartoon. You can’t elect a cartoon.

This Is Not The America I Know

I grew up admiring the United States and spent quite a bit of my youth there. But if you look at the pictures beaming out during this election year, you can barely recognize it.
The primaries lowered the American political system right into the gutter. With name calling and bigotry that was off the charts. Those who didn’t participate in this amazingly ignorant extremist behavior were, one by one, culled from the herd. Until there were only two left.
Trump, who I had now dubbed the Trumpanzee, (after a dozen or so editorials in my Trumpanzee Cage on Facebook), and Ted Cruz.
I honestly couldn’t tell you who was crazier. So I just sat and watched as the people decided it was the good old Tumpanzee. Because even before the primaries were over, Trump had even laid waste to Lyin’ Ted Cruz, as he was dubbed in the name calling part of the fiasco.
(Funny but nobody ever bothered to give Trump a nickname).

The Horror…The Horror

With a mouth that should be washed out with soap regularly, a hideous comb-over, a full range of scary clownlike facial expressions, a monstrous ego that made it impossible for anybody to coach him because he was always the smartest guy in the room, and a level of racism, bigotry and misogyny that is reserved for KKK Grand Wizards, the Trumpanzee conquered them all.
Unbelievable. It really did speak volumes about the huge increase in the sheeple population of America.
In all honesty, I don’t really blame the people. A lot of them are very ignorant and easy to manipulate. The rest are just being loyal, albeit blindly, to their party. Plus the media was giving Trump all the coverage anyone could ever want. And still do to this day, even in the face of his outright and very vocal contempt for them.
But the media circus, and it was just that, attracted so many eyeballs that the marginalized, the poorly educated and the outright bigots and racists were now being given a voice. And the noise just carried on incessantly, and it spread and grew Trump's following at an alarming rate.
The more outrageous he is, the more his sheeple seem to love him. I’m not exactly sure they really even know what they are cheering for, because almost everything that comes out of Trump's gob is a contradiction,  a serious distortion of the truth or a slanderous outright lie.
And yet, when his sheeple are interviewed, they all echo the same sentiment…. “He’s speaking his mind and he’s saying all the things we believe but don’t have the courage to say ourselves”.
So just exactly on a scale of one to ten, how fucked up is that? Probably a 30 or 40.
And so it went until, at the Republican convention, he was anointed the candidate. His response is the stuff of legend. A blisteringly pessimistic one hour plus speech, claiming that ‘only he’ could fix all the problems that ailed American…’only he’ could destroy Isis…’only he’ could control the terrorist threat at home and ‘only he’ could get Americans working again.

There’s a Monkey Wrench Or Two In The Gears

But, because at the end of the day, Trump actually has no platform, no real strategy beside the wall to wall spreading of outright lies that sound really good to his followers, and no intellectual filter, he has actually managed to turn himself into a pretty easy target for the Democrats, and just about anybody else on the left.
And they go after him incessantly.
It’s a true testament to the absurdly huge size of his ego that Trump continues to carry on more or less like his base is not eroding. But there is also a slow-growing element of hubris in all this.
Because it doesn’t matter how much confidence you spin your lies with, you, sooner of later the opposing forces, and they are, in Trump’s case quite formidable, will start to reach into the soft underbelly of your following and make it disappear.
In this case, what is really interesting are the astonishing number of influential Republican supporters, party big shots and sitting politicians who refuse to support their own candidate. This is unprecedented in US history.
But then so is Trump. The hypocrisy of this man is almost perfect, because until he decided to run for president in this election, he was very much a publicly declared Democrat and admittedly close friend of his Democratic opponent Hillary Clinton, to whom he now refers as Crooked Hillary.
http://www.addictinginfo.org/2016/08/15/busted-uncovered-video-shows-trump-supporting-hillary-in-2008-video/

In fact in an interview some years ago he stated quite bluntly that if he were to run for president he would do so on the Republican ticket because in his opinion, they were the most ignorant and gullible of Americans and he could easily win the nomination there.

OK…Reality Check

Now let’s be clear, Trump is not going to be the next president of the United States. In fact he might very well be in jail or otherwise declared ineligible by his own party. Because he’s not just spouting lies publicly. He is going about raising campaign money illegally and is being investigated for threats against his opponent. He's also being investigated for his ties to Vladimir Putin and Russian black market money, being used to finance his real estate developments in Europe and Britain. In short...he's a slimeball on a huge scale.
Or, if the Republicans let this play out, he will lose simply because he lacks the level of both party and popular support he needs to win.

The Black Legacy

But the stain of his campaign will be seen for years to come. This is because he has, by his own behavior, which nobody seems to be able to control, managed to ignite all the racism, sexism, misogyny and bigotry that had long been repressed in a great many Americans.
These are people who really just don’t get the way the world works, and see the the multi-culturalization of their country as a huge threat to their way of life, when in point of fact, it is the key to their future survival as a nation.
Politically speaking it has been, and continues to be one of the most fascinating election years in America’s history. But it’s the kind of fascination that observers invariably feel when seeing a bloody car crash on the highway.
I have social media friends all over the world, and in their comments I see real disillusion. People in other countries even highly successful one, often view America as a large scale experiment in multiculturalism and an economic free market.
Many of these people are shocked to find that one extremely, sociopathic, bigoted individual (with the help of the media), has managed to reveal a rather large vein of negativity in the American personna.
Beyond the jokes and the funny faces and the lies and the hating, this will be the legacy of the 2016 election. To quote the Trumpanzee in his many tweets….”Sad”.
