Why A Democratic Woman President Could Be A Good Thing For America Right About Now

Why A Democratic Woman President Could Be A Good Thing For America Right About Now

This post was inspired by my fellow beBee bee, Nicole Chardenet . Thanks for your wisdom and your strong female point of view.

1 think women are foolish to
pretend they are equal to men.
They are far superior and always
have been. Whatever you give 2
woman, she will make greater. If
you give her sperm, she will give

you 2 baby. If you give her 2 house,
she will give you a home. If you
give her groceries, she will give you
2 meal. If you give her a smile, she
will give you her heart. She multiplies
and enlarges what is given to her.

So, if you give her any crap, be

ready to receive a ton of shit!I have spent a lot of time over the past year writing about the potential downside of a Trump presidency. It basically boiled down to a fatal flaw in his character, which is his apparent extreme narcissism, which then triggers other isms.
What I haven’t really spent a lot of time on is Hillary Clinton.
There are a couple of good reasons for this. 1. I didn’t think she needed to be sold all that hard because her qualifications are solid and 2. I had genuine faith in the fact that there are simply more Democrats in the US who would support her than there are hard core Republicans who would support Mr.Trump.
While I may have underestimated the amount of support that Trump has been able to garner, that still doesn’t alter the reality.

Hillary will more than likely be the next President of the United States in two weeks time.
Trump campaigned on a platform for creating change. But nowhere in all the rhetoric I heard, and I heard a lot because following this election became my hobby, did I ever hear any concrete explanation of how he was going to do all this ‘make America great again’ stuff he said he was going to do.
From this it’s very easy to conclude that he doesn’t actually have a clue how he’s going to do this. That he’s over his head and that wheeling and dealing Manhattan style just don’t cut it in Washington, no matter how much change you purport to represent.
Mrs. Clinton, on the other hand, has detailed both in speeches and on the platform pages of her website, just how she’s going to do everything she says she will do. And how much it will cost.
She has also been smart enough to include several of the ideas that Bernie Sanders put forth in his campaign. So she is covering off all her bases.
Her success as President, of course, all depends on the American people wising up and giving her a congress and a senate that is not going to hate her because she’s a woman the same way they hate Obama because he’s black.
But, ever the cockeyed optimist, I feel that this will come to pass as well.

So What Happens Then?

OK, so now there will be a woman in the most powerful position in the free world. What happens?
A couple of years ago, I wrote a blog for one of the design firms I work with on marketing to women. As part of the research I did, I compiled a list which I called the ‘Valid Insights On Marketing To Women.’
The reason I am including part of this list is so that you can understand why I believe Hillary Clinton (a woman) will make an excellent president.
1: Women Are Focused On Connections: They look for similarities as opposed to points of difference. They focus on creating cooperation, good relationships and ways for people to help each other.
2. Women Trust Common Experience, as opposed to men who tend to put more faith in authority. The reason for this is that men think vertically as in hierarchies whereas women tend to think laterally as in common ground or level playing fields, where everyone can benefit.
3. Women Prefer Win/Win Situations, as opposed to men who think win/lose. That is not to say they are less competitive than men, just competitive in a different way.
4. Women Plan Ahead To Avoid Negative Outcomes. As a result, women tend to be better long-term thinkers and planners.
5. Women Put More Time & Research Into Their Decisions. On any issues of importance, women gather information diligently, and take all into account. They hardly ever shoot from the hip.
6. Women Are More Loyal To Those With Whom They Do Business. This has to do with the fact that women are simply much more confident in their decisions, whereas with men, not so much.
7. Women Are Much More No-Nonsense Than Men. If a woman has an objection to something, she will tell you about it and expect you to address it immediately. Women have highly developed B/S meters. Men, not so much.
8. Women Prefer Stories Not Facts. Women will relate stronger to stories involving people’s experiences and factor them into their decision making. This creates an emotional connection that can often be a key motivator for them.
9. Women Believe That Quantity Is Not Quality. Women tend to look at just about everything in their lives from a qualitative perspective. Quality of life. Quality of experience. Quality of relationships etc.
Granted much of this is geared to women as consumers. But if you think about that, what they also define, for the most part, are the characteristics that make for a sane, sober, clear thinking leader which, right now, is what the United States needs a hell of a lot more than a divisive, racist, sexist, misogynist ego-obsessed reality show host with very little emotional discipline and intuitive intelligence.

I Really Like The United States
Me

Because I grew up in the Buffalo, New York area, a lot of the stuff I learned about life I learned there, and a lot of the people who taught that to me were Americans.

Americans are, at their core, great people. They are kind, generous and appreciative of the fact that they are living in a free country.
Right now the world is kind of in a blender. The terrorist threat from radical jihadists masquerading as Islamic fundamentalists has achieved the effect they have set out achieve.
They have created a state of imbalance in the world.
This, in turn, has caused many countries to shift farther to the right. In the US this shift, supported by the whacko right wing media, has really generated a hell of a lot of fear in people, especially those susceptible to being influenced in this way.
This has led to the rise of entities like the Tea Party, Citizens United and, most recently, Donald Trump.
Having an experienced and highly qualified person running the country with a congress and senate that supports executive decisions instead of obstructing them, is really the only viable option for America right now. (IMHO)
And this election has really come down to the candidate with a concrete platform versus a candidate who appears to be making it up as he goes along.
The more Mr. Trump goes on about how everything is rigged...about the terrorist threat from Muslims in America...about deporting 12 million illegal immigrants, and building a wall 1100 miles long to keep them out. The more he ignores the reality that it is the Republican congress and senate that have been the actual root cause of almost all the political inaction he accuses his opponent of…the more he threatens to sue women who have accused him of sexual assault and harassment…the more he does everything he has built his political brand on…the more voters start to see him as a candidate whose interest in the American people and what they need is simply nowhere near that of his opponent’s.

Mind Your Own Damn Business, Jim
Some Americans Of My Acquaintance

A few Americans, especially Republicans, will tell me I don’t understand what’s really going on in their country. How could I? I’m a Canadian.
OK. You’re entitled to your opinion. But we Canadians see what’s going on just as clearly, perhaps even more so, than the partisan-afflicted in America.
I don’t have to live in my neighbor's house to know what he’s like.
The noise of America is loud and clear and spilling out all over the world.
And the reason I write these kinds of posts at all is that everything America does has, at some point, an effect on my country.

My Advice, Such As It Is

Embrace it. Get over whatever sexist proclivities you may have. People are people. Even women.
Be thankful that you will have a sane woman at the helm of your country. Because, America, the simple fact is that you need all the sanity you can get right now.
This may not be the optimal solution. I don’t believe there is nay such thing anymore. But it’s a hell of a lot more stable than the alternative.

Jim Murray Outside looking in. America will only realise what an incredible president Mr Obama was once he is gone. For me ( and its personal) Hillary offers a better alternative to the 'other guy' . Bring it on and Jesus, could American politicians get on with the job of actually governing the place. Its an incredible country and every single American should feel privileged and proud to live there !!!

Since you worked in the Clinton White House , in your opinion how much of what was said about her in the 90s do you think was true versus partisan slander?

I learned something at TEDxMidAtlantic this past week that may be another interesting thing to look for. In the military and businesses reaching 20% women leads to a tipping point in organizational culture and you start to see some positive effects. At 30% women organizations significantly increase performance. Now here is the interesting part - With a Hillary Clinton victory 3 of the G7 leaders will be women. That has the potential to have a huge global impact. I guess we'll see.

And one more thing for those Americans who are disaffected by this presidential election process and may be pondering whether they should vote: you can always vote for a "write in candidate" (like me, yourself or anyone else).

Jim, since you waded into this political minefield I have a few questions for you. Please keep Trump out of it because this is about Hillary. But first, please note that I'm a long-time registered Independent voter leaning toward Hillary, having worked for her husband when he was US President and I was in my early 20s (a time which I refer to as "Glory Days" per the name of the Bruce Springsteen song on his 1980s album, "Born in the USA"). Here's the thing, Jim: I'm troubled by some of the accusations described below, which you conveniently glossed over. Thus, my questions: 1) Does it bother you and/or other Hillary supporters that she allegedly lied to the American people -- and perhaps Congress and the FBI -- about the email scandal? 2) Does it bother you and/or others that Hillary allegedly undermined U.S. national security via her use of a private emails server as Sec. of State? 3) Does it bother you or others that Hillary f____ed up the so-called "Russian Reset"? In fact, when she handed the Russian Foreign Minister a prop called a "Reset Button" during a public event, he quickly pointed out in a disparaging way that she spelled the term incorrectly in Russian. 4) Does is bother you or others about the so-called alleged "Pay to Play" scheme between Secretary Clinton and the Clinton Foundation? 5) Does it bother you or others that while Hillary says she's pro-women's right on one hand, she allegedly accepted millions is speech fees and donations to the Clinton Foundation from some Middle Eastern Arab countries (like Saudi Arabia and others) which trample on women's rights and treat women as second class citizens? 6) Does it bother you or others that the U.S. Ambassador to Libya and his staff were brutally murdered by terrorists in Benghazi? The first time the USA lost an ambassador to terrorism in 30 years?

This is where I disagee with a lot of the people who believe that Hillary Clinton has no redeeming social value. If nothing else she will carry on Obama's policies which have actually brought the country back economically, increased jobs lost to automation, and made health care available to millions that didn't have it. The trouble is that the rancor on the Republican side is so great it is drowning out all the good that their current president has actually been able to do with the odds stacked against him.

I am nowhere near you Jim Murray, but it seems the Americans have to choose between a blind and a deaf .. there couldn't be any better candidates?

Somebody has to take responsibility for how these undesirable candidates got here in the first place. That's on the American people, I guess. "File it under you reap what you sow."
