Why Women Should Rule The World

Why Women Should Rule The World

O The Lokie

We have come a long way as a civilization, but we will have completed out journey though this phase when we finally realize that women should run everything.

In my life I am surrounded by strong women. And there is really not any instance I can think of when I would not defer to their opinions.

Now you could say that makes me some sort of wimp, but then you would be playing right into the stereotype point of view that men are stronger, more decisive and more fearless than women.

This is where you would be, IMHO, dead wrong.

Because this is not true and it never really has been. Most men are physically stronger than most women, but men are also controlled, to a great extent, by their testosterone and think about life as a contest that they have to win.

This causes them to make all kinds of stupid decisions…the kinds of decisions, I would argue, that have gotten the world into the huge pickle it's in today.

Woman, on the other hand, see the world in more or less the same way, but are generally much smarter about how they go about crafting their victories.

Women have a more lateral view of the world. Most believe that victory is something that should be shared. And this is because they don’t see other women as the enemy, but see all women as a force that can defeat anything and makes things better for everyone.

Smart women are much more capable of having a civilized discussion about differences and finding common ground. Whereas men tend to probe for weaknesses and then figure out how to attack.

When you contrast the two approaches, the woman’s approach seems much more enlightened, thoughtful and likely to produce a better overall outcome.

The man’s approach seems much more primitive, messy and destructive with no possibility at all for a collectively positive outcome.

And the thing is that as we see the growing trend towards authoritarianism in the world, you can’t help but notice that these movements are all being left by men who are obsessed with winning, and petty revenge, and don’t really have any idea of how delicate a balance needs to be maintained to keep the world on an even keel.

Just look around and tell me that’s not true.

If women ran the world, I strongly maintain that there would be markedly less of this ego driven bullshit. There would be more universally beneficial ideas in practice. And there would be a much better chance for the world to avoid turning into the bleak post-apocalyptic wasteland it is showing signs of becoming today.

Just something to think about on a beautiful Sunday here on the quiet side of the lake.

Jim, There are days I would agree with you in spades and others when I'd want to thump you. I've worked with women that would make Torquemada seem like a pussycat. And I've had the benefit of having women friends that make it a pleasure just to be in their company. I'm taking the long way 'round the barn to say I don't think all women are the same. For the most part, they are a good bunch but down there in the bottom of the barrel... And so it goes.

In support of Lada, two words Sereena Williams, ticks all four boxes, competitive being the only acceptable trait.  Jim, you could argue she's the exception that proves the rule. However I think we can all cite less  high profile men and woman who tick all the boxes.

Jim Murray, this strikes me as an odd form of sexism. Most women do like to talk things out. And most men prefer immediate action (followed by putting their feet up and watching TV). But not all members of each gender follow that norm. Moreover, it’s not clear that one or the ither of these approaches is significantly better than the other. Consequently, I suggest that your thesis here is more wishful than factual. Which doesn’t mean I won’t respect you in the morning. Cheers! Jim, from a woman's point of view and the personal experience, I am not quite sure about your statement that women don't see other women as the enemy. I think it's a bit idealised view on the women's gender. Just as men, women can be competitive, jealous, rude and mean to other women. To me, it's always about the quality of a person, not the gender in general.

Jim Murray and his pick of women who methinks became a little drunk with power. Don't get me wrong there are examples of tremendous work done by women in high places ( Angela Merkle) but until we wipe out misogyny I won't hold my breath.

I think that is changing as we speak. Women are more empowered than ever and are not carrying as much weight of expectation around. Lessen that and people are free to be their best.
