Human Tumbleweeds: (A non-poets tumbling step out of his comfort zone)

Human Tumbleweeds: (A non-poets tumbling step out of his comfort zone)

285fb42c.jpg

Inspired by the song Tumbling Tumbleweeds~Sons of the Pioneers

“Wherever we may call home,

Wherever we may roam,

Wherever we may find ourselves drifting along,

Cares of the past behind us,

Knowing that night may be near,

Yet a new world to be born at dawn.”

Navigating the ground below and world around us,

Watching the tumbling of interaction, engagement and communication rumble away,

Sometimes in the far distance,

Sometimes close by,

Sometimes hitting us head on, on any given day.

Using words,

Using signs,

Reveling in the sights and sounds circling about us,

And, because of human nature,

Using our behavior as expressive tumbleweeds lumbering along,

Making the most of our being--hearing, listening, and yes truly seeing despite all the fuss.

Expressing or receiving ideas,

Sharing information, thoughts and feelings,

Understanding our differences in culture, race, ethnicity, religion, orientation, and language,

Yet despite our tumbling’s,

We keep on running in the midst of all the rumblings.

Wherever you may call home,

However you may roam,

Wherever you find yourself on the path of drifting along,

Whether your cares of the past are near or far,

Whether your nightfall is fast approaching,

Or you’re starting anew with another dawn.

Revel in the moment of your sun setting or the brilliance of a new one rising,

Take solace in knowing,

That despite the hardships, despite the changes,

Individually and collectively, there will be a new dawn,

And yes, in the end—we are, together beings, human and strong.
