Sometimes you just have to Waddle

Sometimes you just have to Waddle

7856cff9.jpg

I took a step on my journey

Unsteady and unsure

Leery of what lie ahead

But eager to explore

I meandered down my path

And went from here to there

Marveling at life’s beauty

I waddled without a care

I stumbled and I stuttered

As I took each brand new stride

One before the other

And moving side by side

Looking towards the future

And cognizant of my past

I scan each new horizon

Sometimes slow, sometimes way too fast

I know that I am different

Unique in my own kind of way

But when I look around me

I see others waddling too, as we pass throughout the day

Their walks are oh so different

Yet their journey similar to mine

But in the end we are the same, taking one step before the next

Reflecting single moments, they propel us down our paths--to a newer place in time

Some seem oh so perfect

While others just like mine

Are varied in their gait

And all together that’s ok, no really, that’s just fine

Sometimes as I waddle

I see others who just can’t

Who use a crutch or wheel

A mode of transportation, their legs they do supplant

Even despite the differences

In how we may make our way

I revel in the movements

As we waddle, roll and sway

To all, thank you. As Arthur Ashe is attributed as saying. "Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can." Then however you waddle, roll or sway I hope you all waddle away like silly crazy. Keep making a difference.

I know that I am different Unique in my own kind of way But when I look around me I see others waddling too, as we pass throughout the day Completely unaware that Lisa 🐝 Gallagher. Unique in my own kind of way is what attracted my eye because of its beauty and relevance to my last buzz in which I questioned the value of authenticity. Thanks Joel for sharing your walk in nature and self.

I really enjoyed this Joel Anderson. This stood out, "I know that I am different Unique in my own kind of way But when I look around me I see others waddling too, as we pass throughout the day" And some waddle with a lot of effort, yet they still waddle through and through. Great message above!

But we know what you represent Joyce 🐝 Bowen Brand Ambassador @ beBee - the true spirit of "fall down seven times, get up eight". Same way Denzil Washington said to his fellow actors https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SnQoTZakZp0 - no matter how many times the floor and you have become friends, the people that your voice is for, will get to know the greater wisdom in your waddle This waddle is the greatest movement of all, for this movement is in support for making things better for the lives who you fight for, that innocent waddle that was corrupted by abuse but now has a voice that seeks to bring justice for all those people who should have waddled in peace but whose lives were hurt by injustice and harm. Here I see the waddle of a champion for humanity and a person who battles each day for things that never came easy. If that is your waddle Joyce, that waddle is greatness.
ahahh So reminds me of my waddling adventures with my MS. Problem is--if you are not in a wheelchair, people who have legs simply can't comprehend the need to waddle. Is it the same with our thinking? I'm going to have to school someone tomorrow in the need to waddle. He dissed my disability last week when he said, "you made it here, didn't you?" Each step is a calculated motion. My need to stay off the floor is driven by my concern for people's reactions when I and the floor meet. "The floor and I are friends," I say.

My favourite Fawlty Towers episode was "The Germans" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yfl6Lu3xQW0 but British humour back then is not what political correctness eventually got serous about or should I say did get serious about. Cambridge University has a lot to answer for when it comes to British comedy :-)

It is indeed a strange paradox in life that it is best to be serious about life without taking life seriously.

I am always fully open to lifes waddle. Melissa Hefferman in a comment to Gerry Hecht at https://www.bebee.com/producer/@gerald-hecht/on-some-stuff said "why do we rarely say what we mean and mean what we say?". An equally good question is "why do we rarely waddle in the most meaningful waddle of all?" That meaningful waddle can be termed waddlers. Here are three young one's exhibiting the Joy of waddling : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8LnB0_cO1cg Whether it is duck, chicken or penguin - there is an expression of freedom that is hard for a thinking mind to evolve if we don't exhibit within us this freedom of play. Those three waddlers were exploring also and what they are exhibiting is freedom. The answer to why we don't rarely say what we mean or feel as free as a bird is the same - we are too conscious to be free, thus I dedicate this Beatles song to your poetry https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ODIvONHPqpk
