My Dad Likes Honey

My Dad Likes Honey

eddbf5aa.jpg

Young Poops (or Spotty), Ken's little girl cockatiel, again tells tales about her dad, this time regarding his beBee activities.

My dad's a "beBee buzzing freak", these words are his not mine,

"You spend way too much time on there", my mum says with a whine,

She'd rather that he did more things she's written on her list,

But weeding, cutting grass and hedges, tends to get him pissed.

---------------------------------------------

My dad's away from me a lot, but I still know he cares,

He's often at the office, or the garage, or upstairs,

But when it's night and I've been fed and outside it is black,

He sits quite close to my big cage and types upon his Mac.

----------------------------------------------

My dad says he has all these bee friends busy making honey,

And he must check his hives and theirs, now don't you find this funny?

This honey's not for eating, it's for other bees to read,

I must admit my bird friends never ever read their seed.

------------------------------------------------

My dad says that his favourite thing is reading what bees post,

I'm glad he knows my favourite things are boiled rice and toast,

'Cause cockatiels don't read too much, but hey it's all quite good,

You guys stick to reading, and I'll enjoy my food.

-------------------------------------------------

My dad spends lots of time, just thanking bees for what they say,

When they have read his poems or prose, and comments come his way.

But best of all he says that honey made by other bees,

Must first be read then bees thanked for their time and expertise.

--------------------------------------------------

So when he's read some posts he likes, then quick without delay

While the iron's hot he'll strike and hasten to make hay,

He tries to write his comments with some wit or add a rhyme,

So that the other bees will know their work is really fine.

--------------------------------------------------

My dad says it's important to be charming and polite,

And not to upset other bees or get into a fight,

"Let's go beBee buzzing', cousin", he will often say,

"No-one's cruisin' for a bruisin' ", not here anyway.

---------------------------------------------------

I hope you like what I say about my dad, because I love my dad.  My dad thinks that you might like to read my other post (I'm a two post cockatiel) on this link:

When not researching the weird or the wonderful, the comical or the cultured, the sinful or the serious, Spotty's dad chases his creative side, the results of which can be seen as selected photographs of his travels on his website at:

Spotty's dad, Ken Boddie, besides being a sometime poet and occasional writer, is an enthusiastic photographer, rarely leisure-travelling without his Canon, and loves to interact with other like-minded people with diverse interests.

Ken's three day work week (part time commitment) as a consulting engineer allows him to follow his photography interests, and to plan trips to an ever increasing list of countries and places of scenic beauty and cultural diversity.

My dad's having a rest after cutting the grass, Miss Julie, but he says I may talk to you. You have a nice smile and I bet you are a good head scratcher. Miss Julie. I love getting my head scratched. Do you like getting your head scratched, Miss Julie? 🐦

Just like I said to Mr Dean, Miss Franci, my mum says that you must be talking about the wrong person. She would much rather he was 'out standing' in the garden, cutting the grass. 🐦

Sometimes my mum locks me in my cage, Miss Pam, because she says I talk too much. But she knows the best way to get me to stop is to give me my boiled rice. Do you like boiled rice, Miss Pam? And my dad, Miss Pam, he doesn't steal anything from me. He only borrows. 🐦

Sorry about your head, Mr James. I hope it gets better. When my dad hurts himself, he says a lot of short words that I don't understand and my mum gets really angry. Do you know any four letter words, Mr James? 🐦

My dad's gone to bed, Mr Dean, but my mum just said that you must be mixing up my dad with somebody else. 🐦

You dad is the consummate gentlebee dear Poops! So please understand and spare him some time to visit beBeeLand every day. We may never see such a gracious bee as dear Ken Boddie.
