Nicotine Replacement Therapy: Great Way to Quit Smoking

Nicotine Replacement Therapy: Great Way to Quit Smoking

Greater numbers of smokers than ever before who are seeking a way to kick the habit for good are turning to e-cigarettes in order to ease the transition and optimize their chance of success. Unlike patches, gum and other nicotine delivery systems, vaping provides a greater degree of dose control and the means to create a more effective nicotine replacement experience. Learning more about how smokers may be able to vape to quit smoking can allow even long-term smokers to quell their cravings and ensure that the withdrawal process can be completed with far greater comfort.

Dangers of Smoking and Tobacco Use

With so many potential dangers associated with tobacco finding a way to quit for good is never a concern that should be taken lightly. Many smokers who wish to quit often find themselves unable to do so, and even those who manage to go weeks, months or even years without a cigarette often find themselves falling into old habits sooner or later. Unlike tobacco, e-cigarettes allow users to adjust nicotine potency quickly and easily, a features that has allowed many former smokers to wean themselves off of their addiction over time.

Variable Nicotine Dosage and Adjustable Settings

Vaping starter kits can be used with a variety of juices and fluids that may be found with variable levels of nicotine. Users can choose to reduce their daily dosage a little at a time or switch to a lower potency fluid at set intervals in an effort to minimize the discomfort associated with nicotine withdrawal. Fluids can even be found that contain no nicotine at all but may still provide e-cigarette users with an experience that closely resembles smoking and assist in fulfilling the psychological need for a cigarette. Selecting the right equipment or investing in a starter kit is often the first step on the road to becoming smoke free.

Finding and Selecting the Right Equipment

From cigalikes to sub-ohm vaping, there are plenty of equipment options and products available to those who are just getting started. Some of the most common and important concerns for smokers who are interested in using an e-cigarette as a nicotine replacement system may include:

  • Battery life

  • Overall cost for both equipment and future purchases

  • Tank capacity and output

  • Ease of fluid refill

A popular option for those who have never experienced vaping before is to invest in a low-cost starter kit that will provide a better feel for the experience with minimal financial cost.

Low-potency Vaping and Nicotine-free Fluids

In addition to finding the right blend or flavor or fluid, determining the correct nicotine dosage can ensure a smoother transition. Vaping at too high a nicotine level can create a few problems while fluids that may be too low potency could do little to quell cravings. After selecting a level of nicotine that closely approximates their accustomed dose, e-cigarette users may begin to dilute their fluid or select a lower-dose juice or cartridge for their next refill. Many smokers feel that being able to titrate the dose quickly and easily allows them to quit smoking with greater ease and comfort than may have been possible with patches, nicotine gums and other products.

Kicking the Habit for Good

While vaping can be very helpful in terms of preventing or dealing with cravings, there are other techniques that may be helpful for those who attempting to quit. Eating healthier, getting plenty of exercise and making an effort to maintain a better lifestyle can be of tremendous benefit for dealing with the physical or psychological stresses of quitting. Efforts like avoiding activities and settings that may foster cravings and making a serious commitment to lead a more active lifestyle can help to ensure those who are using an e-cigarette to quit smoking will be more likely to kick the habit for good.

Ugh...how dirty is the habit of smoking! For temporal pleasure, we make our nostrils little chimneys, and at the end, lose our health.
