Removing The Veil

He lived in darkness all his life. His eyes were shaped by the environment in which he was raised since he was a young boy. Every day seemed so boring. Grey thoughts haunted him the minute he woke up. When he looked in the mirror he saw an old man with almost no energy. The mirror felt so sad for him. Little tears fell down in silence. Years passed by. The calendar marked a new year and looked hopefully at the mirror. The mirror nodded his head to confirm that there was no change in the situation.

Outside life continued as usual. The wind was blowing. The golden field was full of colorful birds and active insects, playing a game of hide and seek. Life was stunning and full of little miracles. There was abundance all around the house of the man. Growth and development everywhere. A landscape of permanent change. No day was the same. Joy and laughter all around. Everything was possible. The air was patient and ready to embrace all happenings from the heart. The birds observed wisely the scene and used their intuition to fly into a new direction.

One bird arrived at the house of the man and paused nearby the window. It heard the crying mirror and asked what was wrong. The mirror told the story of the man who was so sad about the dark side inside of him. The calendar moved his pages to show all days marked as black in the life of the man since childhood. The bird understood the essence of the story and wondered what he could do to turn the tide. In the forest he would seek a medicinal herb to heal the man. It took the bird seven days to find it.  When the bird returned, the situation was left unchanged.

The bird, the mirror and the calendar waited until full moon to take action. Finally the man closed his eyes to sleep. His room was cold. His clothes were everywhere. The mirror opened the window and let the bird enter. The wings of the bird moved slowly so that the man would not notice it. Deep in his wings, the bird had two medicinal plants, one for each eye. With extreme care the bird - supported by the mirror and the calendar - touched the eyelids of the man. The man moved but he continued to sleep. The medicinal herbs entered deeply in the skin of the man and touched his soul profoundly.

The next morning the man woke up. He went to the bathroom first. When he looked into the mirror a miracle had happened. He saw his true beauty. He was handsome even at his current age. He then reminded all his special qualities and understood what value he still had to offer to the world. Next to him he saw a box titled 'all your dreams are coming true, just allow them in'. He opened the box and saw a movie of all his dreams. He smiled. This time his smile was so beautiful that the sun and stars danced happily ever after. The man had removed his veil.
