Reshape Your Brain. Do Not Play It Safe. Bury. Then Berry.
Procrastination. We are all familiar with it. Doing a task? Not now. Not today. Tomorrow. The day after tomorrow. Maybe next week or next month. Once, we are ready. That moment might never come. We humans tend to be very creative when we do not feel like doing a task. Procrastination can hold us back. Like a silent prison. To keep us safe. When we do not change our behavioral patterns, we have no chance to grow. We stay the same. Once more. We should not worry about it, ... life continues anyway ... things get done, if not by us then certainly by others. Topic closed? No!
What about accountability? How about taking the driver seat in our own life? We can do a lot. So much more than what our ego tells us. It is easier than we think. We need to commit to not give up until we have completed a particular task. The reward comes when we bury procrastination. Tasteful berries appear when we have the courage to leave our comfortzone of learned behavioral patterns. What is the secret to make it happen? Patterns have become habits and have an impact on all the aspects of our life.
Some of us avoid or postpone tasks because we might fear or doubt that we are not adequate enough for the given task. Roots in perfectionism. We fear failure or worry about what others might say about us. As a result we do not even give it a try. That is playing safe. In such a game there are only losers. We even lose ourselves. Only our shadow remains. There is no gain. We never will know how good the berries taste once we would remove the obstacle of procrastination. However, there is good news. The template of procrastination does not function under a bright sun. Awareness creates a shift.
How can we bury procrastination?
We can try a lot of tricks on the conscious level and still see that nothing changes. That is perfectly possible. The key could be hidden on a deeper level. We could make an effort to connect to our subconscious mind. Via hypnosis and theta brain waves we can reshape our brain. We cannot achieve everything in one day, but if we practice these tools on a daily basis, we can remove old patterns that no longer serve us and replace these by positive patterns that give us the freedom to expand our potential. Everything in nature is meant to expand, so why would we refuse that option?
Should we feel bad about this or even feel ashamed? Clearly: no. This is the way humans have been created. Everything happens for a reason. Everyone grows in his or her own rhythm. If we would have been born as perfect beings, we also would have been excluded from growth. The foundation of our patterns has been built in our childhood, but as an adult we have the possibility to make adjustments if our habits are not in alignment with the goals we wish to achieve. Come on, it is time to say goodbye to procrastination and say hello to the good things in our lives on all levels.
The only activity we should procrastinate, is procrastination itself.
