Stretching. Exercise.

Stretching. Exercise.

An old mentor and his mentee were sitting alongside a beautiful lake. A peaceful place. Transparent and pure. Breathing calmly. In and out. Living the present moment. In grace. Observing the environment. The water reflected thougths and emotions, stored for a long decade deep beneath the surface. They were both lucky to be here. The mentor said to the mentee: "Please describe me your world as you see it". The mentee was surprised. She said: "Don't we all see the world the same way?". The mentor said nothing and continued to stare into the deep water.

A sign for the mentee to describe her thoughts and emotions on how she experienced the world. The mentor only listened. Said no word. A whole world view was created from her angle. The actors in her movie behaved in a certain way. The landscape was colored in a specific way. Painted by her beliefs and experiences. She told her mentor about her beliefs. The conscious ones. Then she followed the master's eye. It seemed that he saw something interesting deep in the water. She stopped talking and followed his focus.

What a breathtaking experience. Her eyes opened. Completely. She reached the bottom of the lake. They walked together without any resistance. They could breathe. It was a miracle. She saw a huge box. It was closed. She tried to open it. She needed his assistance. It worked. They could break the seal. The box moved. The content was displayed. He took a seat. Let her discover the wisdom of the blue water. She took her time. So many things that were revealed at once. Her face expressed wonder.

An old document. Yellow shine. She read it. It was a long list of limiting beliefs. It was signed. She saw a name. It was her name. She was shocked. How was this possible? She turned her head to seek for her mentor. He smiled. He looked her straight in the eyes. A happy reflection. Finally she was ready to see the truth. She copied the words in her mind's eye. Started to cry. Was deeply touched. Now she understood something very important. Grateful to be offered such a precious present. She became silent.

The water moved slowly. Creating small circles. To let the wisdom turn around. They remained beneath the surface a little longer. Both exploring the area. The mentor could also learn from this exceptional moment. Nobody is ever too old to learn. Their subconscious mind was cleaned. All limiting beliefs removed and replaced by empowering ones. They felt lighter. Like gentle balloons. Time to return to the same spot alongside the lake. No trace left of the water experience. Instantly dry.

The scenes cut and pasted. By the master writer. The movie started where the mentor asked the mentee his first question. He repeated his words: "Please describe me your world as you see it". She was not annoyed to hear the question again. In a short period of time. She took a deep breath and noticed how her words had changed. She saw different colors now. New view points. Her description of the world had completely transformed. As if she was going through an album of old pictures for the second time. To realize that all old pictures had been replaced. By a new photographer. New experiences.

She felt free. So much younger. She noticed how her mentor's appearance had evolved too. His inner light was shining. More than before. The shadow was replaced by the light. The water of the lake had become a mirror of beauty, mystery and wonder. Next to her only a yellow document reminded her about that unique experience in the water. She decided to read it again. New miracle. The content had changed completely. Turned into a long list of empowering beliefs. She smiled. "Thank you", she whispered. Tears of joy in her eyes. The mentor was gone. Ready for his next mission.

Liesbeth, I've been absent in comments on your wonderful visions due to travel and my back being out. This tale matches the mood I'm in now. When the pain wanes deeper vision is restored. Thank you for putting what is occurring for me into beautiful words.

Inspiring message . Mentors can play such a positive role in so many people's lives. My husband will hire young men in their first year of college with little experience but he's a great mentor to them. He's had at least 6 interns over the past 10 years and they still keep in touch with him. Not to mention, they've succeeded well in life. Every intern he's hired has learned so much and usually stays with him over a period of 1-3 years. It's fun to see them happily coming back in the summer. Your photo of the lake is beautiful, did you take it?

Thank you, Liesbeth, for another beautiful buzz, as well as an instructive one. Mentors are critically important not only to career advancement but also to comprehending life lessons generally -- and acting or reacting accordingly. Moreover, as you know, I always highly admire your unique storytelling skills which are filled with passion, vibrancy and vigor. The words practically jump off the page! Thus, I'm confident in speaking for all fans of your wonderful writing when I say: Please keep buzzing!!!
