The Lion And The Present Moment

The moment was playful as always. Sheerfully exploring life. Laughing and crying and laughing again. Life was one big adventure. Books could be written until infinity about all those encounters that crossed the path of the moment. Time did not impress moment as much as it did for most living beings. Until one day. That day changed everything. It was a glorious morning and the sun was shining brightly. Moment woke up with joy and wondered what experience it would create today. The day danced in the golden morning light.

Moments later, it was walking in an unknown forest. All by itself at first glance. However, various species came to say 'hello'. Birds sang and the trees adapted to the rhythm of that song. It was a quiet tune. The road was long. Suddenly there was a sound that made moment stop from walking. The sound came nearer. It was as if everything and everyone in the whole forest felt the tension. Moment noticed its heartbeat better than ever before. It was going fast. Faster and faster. What was happening?

Then an impressive being showed up. With a lot of wild hair and an expression that would forever remain in moment's memory. The wild being looked at moment, right in the eyes. Some distance but kind of face to face. Eyes meeting eyes. Boldness was high in demand right now. Scanning in depth. With a force hardly to describe. In a secret language that did not use words. All other beings would have wished that they were not here. Too scary. Too intense. But moment was brave and stayd to honor the story.

The scent of the lion was different from all the rest. Ferocious and free. A perfume of strength mixed with courage. Moment's nose took it all in. A collector's item. The hair of the wild being was waving with the wind. Colors of natural highlights that no hairdresser could ever steal or copy. His eyes kept on staring at moment. Without moving his eyelids. Not even one single second. Almost a game to seek the winner of the eyelid contest. Moment surrendered. To look back. With the same fire or at least an attempt to reach that level of royal class. No loser in this game.

By staying in this moment with the wild being, moment noticed how all its senses became purified and functioned at their best. All information was channeled with unconditional love. As if this being gave moment all the core strength it needed to touch all parts of beingness. Because of this, this moment became all what counted. The only thing that mattered. With single-minded focus. To deliver the highest beauty. Moment closed its eyes and when it woke up, it saw a golden feather right in front of its eyes. The wild being was gone but the moment was transformed into the present moment. An award for the soul. From a distance a lion was roaring. Fierce. With lots of joyful playfulness ...

#17 No, not a real lion. I saw the lion as being a metaphor, for 'someone' or 'something 'else. So I'm still betting on personal memory.
