The Next Moment

The Next Moment

She was sitting in her red chair. Barely dressed. She saw her reflection in the mirror. Without any judgment she followed the shape of her body. Remained naturally focused. Just like a golden eagle. Outside it was still silent. Except for the birds. They were singing. Her eyes had question marks. No wrinkles around them. Her beauty was timeless. She put a song on. A wonderful melody filled the room. Her thoughts got wings. The colors of the make up demanded her attention. She loved them.

Yet, she decided not to wear any make up. Today she would wear her natural glow. No aid needed. A touch of blush. No thank you. She moved her face in multiple angles, witnessed the texture of her skin. Healthy patterns. Compared to women of her age she was one of the blessed ones. No further comment needed. The table in front of her shivered. Almost alive. A hand appeared. A male hand waved to her. She was shocked. Don't think this was something usual going on. Before she could act upon the image, the hand came closer and closer.

A voice said hi. She recognized the warm sound of a person she once knew. He was sitting in the sleeping room. On a blue chair, combing his hair. In silent humbleness. The birds were singing. No other song playing. He thought of her. His thoughts got wings. In the middle of space and time their thoughts crossed and ended up together to start a conversation. While they were holding hands and were part of each other's soul. Long time ago. Still connected. He said not much at first.  To let her do the talking.

She continued to talk and talk. Words and sentences followed quickly. In between the lines he figured out how she was, how she was really doing. He saw her image in the mirror. Smiled. My God, she was so gorgeous. She always had been. She knew he was listening. Really listening. She felt it in her heart and soul. He asked a question. An open one. A signal for her to give more information from deep within. Then she stopped. Still waters. She finally realized that she also needed to do her share to keep the balance of the conversation strong. She confronted the image in the mirror.

'How are you?', she replied. He was waiting for her sign of compassion. She really did her best to create space for him. He was wearing a white T-shirt. That is all what she could notice from where she was sitting. He was so attractive. As always. They launched a series of deeper exchanges. Too mysterious to reveal. They understood each other. Easily. They felt good. From a distance they were sure of their bond. They accepted the notion of space and time. Their hands caressed each other. With lots of love.

He told her that he was going for a walk. Asked her if she would like to join him.The mirror offered the possibility of time traveling. She noted the time in her book. She took his hand and the next moment she was with him. The field was covered with red roses. The breeze whispered sweet words in their ears. The table with the make up on, got involved in the scene and colored the scenes like a true artist does. Just like that. The moment seemed to last forever. The chairs danced. The walls got removed. The hearts one. Peaceful. Delightful. The rooms unlocked.
