A Strange Item on My Bucket List

A Strange Item on My Bucket List

6284271e.jpg

I dream of having an Ambush Makeover! I watch Hoda and Kathie Lee almost daily. Look at the photo, these two have some serious fun on the job. Not only would I love to have an Ambush makeover, I'd love to have a job like this or experience it just for a day. How many people really love what they do? It appears Hoda and Kathie Lee sure love their job and if they don't, well they are extremely good at faking it. I don't think they are faking it though. And, who gets to drink wine while on the job, well Hoda and Kathie Lee, of course! So, give me a BIG glass of wine, a few lines, lead me and I think I could at least fake my way through one day on the set. Ok, I may end up being the brunt of many people's jokes afterward but at least I could say I did it!

As for the makeover, have you seen the before and after photos? They make older women look naturally younger than me after they complete the makeover. I don't know about other women but I have a hard time being objective about my hair, my clothing style etc... it would be great to have a professional do a makeover, you know.. something outside of the box that is do-able every day!

Here are a few examples of the Ambush Makeovers done on The Today Show with Hoda and Kathie Lee

Is she rocking her new look or what? She looks 10-15 years younger!

This gal is naturally pretty but look how BEAUTIFUL she is after her makeover!

Maybe I can talk my daughter into sending a plea letter for me... I will have her send my worst photo... oh wait, that won't be hard since most of them are pretty bad.

When I'm done I will head over to the beBee headquarters to meet Matt 🐝 Sweetwood and Virag Gulyas- they can give me a tour of the beBee headquarters and New York City. NYC is only 7 hours from me but I've never been there. I think I would take a train if I were to visit.

I know I'm not going to get lucky for an Ambush Makeover but I sure would love to visit NYC because that is on my bucket list too.

Anyone else ready to visit the big Apple? Let me know, maybe we can meet up in NYC!

And you are too kind! Thanks. I'd still love one but I don't think that will happen. I love how the women look so different but natural after the makeovers are done. Kathie Lee used to gag me but I find her very funny now and Hoda, well I could hang with her in a heartbeat! Did you ever see her do Dance/Karaoke with Bruno Mars's song, Uptown funk? If not, try to find it on youtube, it's awesome!

Maybe Matt 🐝 Sweetwood could write a buzz with good tips on how to use your camera, good selfie sticks and possible accessories we need if we are using a selfie stick. I was looking them up last night and they are more complex than when they first came out so I didn't order one. I'm so glad your mom was cancer free after going through what she did! I can see why you didn't want to leave. As for your dream (mine too) We should really look into cost, places to stay (again we could get first rate advice/reviews on decent hotels from Juan or Javier). The cost will be my largest issue. Where do you live Ivette? US or other?

, I love the way you think! I'm a dreamer too and many times I find a way to make those dreams come true. I was just looking for a selfie stick tonight with a microphone because it's too hard to video while holding my hand and quite frankly, the closer the camera is to my face.. I look distorted lol or my nose really is that big?!! haha. How cool that your cousin spent a month in Spain. It sure would be a lot cheaper to travel with someone and fun. Maybe we should give it some thought. You have the same idea I do with live video, I want to interview others, find interesting topics- so hey lets shoot for Spain, you never know :)) I had no idea your mom had Cancer, how is she now Ivette? I can relate, when my mom had cancer I was afraid to leave and go to Colorado to visit my son and his family. I did but I was nervous the entire time.

🐝 Fatima Williams I'm sorry I missed your comment! I'm glad I had you laughing. I never thought of it before but yes, why Ambush? I think it's because it's fast, they grab you from the audience and they do hair, makeup and a new outfit. I was in a silly mood when I wrote this but hey, we women can dream, right?!! Thanks for your kind comment.

Ah, you will have to write a buzz sometime Pascal Derrien about your time here or the visa: whichever would be more interesting!

, thank you for your kind words! I'm hard on myself, always have been. I was just telling my daughter yesterday I need to stop! I think when we hit a 'certain age,' many of us see changes that may be subtle to others but seem drastic to us, yourself included! I agree, beauty comes from within ( I actually meant to mention that when I wrote this) but forgot. I didn't want people to think I was sounding shallow. I saw a makeover last night because I watch this show at 2am... yep, the night owl in me lol and I saw a really amazing makeover which led me to writing this for fun! I will give you the same advice, do not be hard on yourself, I've seen your live buzzes and you look great, so get a new photo taken and I promise to do a live buzz again soon too. Thanks for all your help as well, you are invaluable!

Ha ha you had me laughing at the idea. Why do they call it an ambush though. You look very pretty Lisa. I love all the pictures you have posted so far. You have a magnificent smile and lovely hair. I always do something with my hair when I want a make over. So If your thinking make overs are awesome. Yes they give you a new look like you shed something that was dragging you down. Like a weight lifted off. A feeling of refreshment for the physical body and inner body. And when you visit NYC get me a beBee T shirt 😍😆😆😆 Wishing you luck with your daughter sending the letter though or just let me inbox her I'll give her some great ideas to give you a make over 😍🤗😚 BTW Make over sounds very sexy Lisa are you having any date plans 😉😉😉😉

Lisa, you already look great! Moreover, looks are superficial and our society is too judgmental based on one's appearance. Plus, I think true beauty emanates from the inside out, not the outside in. Therefore, my take is that you will always be a beautiful person both externally and internally. Also, if you're getting an "ambush makeover" than so am I (this shouldn't be a gender specific thing), especially with a face only a mother can love (and my wife, thank goodness). In fact, here's an embarrassing admission: my profile photo is outdated and I'm loathe to change it because I'm pretty sure I will only look worse and less photogenic. But your buzz here really inspired me and got me thinking about this issue in a new light. Now I just need to find a good photographer so my new profile pic doesn't scare people away (lol). Thanks for considering these points, Lisa, and thanks for ALL YOU DO! I really appreciate YOU. as do so many others here and elsewhere.

1991/1992 around 11 months overstayed on my visa waiver which led to some intersting discussions when I had to go back to the US for work 10 years later :-)

I'd have to buy it since I wouldn't be home to make any ;-) I'm sure it would be easier to find in NYC than my hometown lol
