The Brave Fight For Gender Equality

The Brave Fight For Gender Equality

9912c9e5.jpg

In the 21st century, women are stronger than ever. We are small business owners, leaders and have established the right to be heard, respected and treated like a human being instead of a man's piece of property. Though there are still several countries in the world where the rights of woman are not equal, women are coming into power.

b18411bf.jpg

However, it is not enough to say the fight for gender equality is over. If anything the fight to be woman is just getting started. In countries like Indonesia, the government has declared a no tolerance policy against violence against women; reports of violence against woman have tripled between 2010 and 2014 according to the National Commission on Violence against Women. Also the average wage of women working in urban Indonesia is 30% less than their male counterparts.

b1669a2c.jpg

Ultimately as annoying as it may seem to listen to the bull dyke scream about women’s issues through a megaphone, her influence and advocacy is essential to the progression of gender equality around the world. As a global and international society, we are still greatly lagging on gender inequality

In the country of Jordan women do not have the same economic opportunity as men even when they have more education. Women in Jordan experience double the unemployment rates of their male counterparts even when they are more skilled and educated than their male counterparts.

However, being discriminated in the workplace is only one of the major issues women face in the world. Abuse and rape is an international and disturbing problem women encounter. Globally 1 in 3 women experience domestic violence. Not only do women have to fear for their lives because of the attacks of male aggressors, they have to watch out for heinous and bizarre religious practices regarding the idea of a woman’s virtue, virginity, or what it means to be kept pure until the day they are married to a man.

One of the worse things that can happen to women in the world is genital mutilation. Genital mutilation is a horrific ritual of sewing the vagina shut to keep the woman pure until marriage. In countries like Egypt, 90% of women have undergone this horrific act of female oppression.

Considering women are still getting their vagina's stiched shut in the 21st century, it is safe to say the fight for women's rights is just beginning.

Dear Lyon Brave, I wrote an article, called EDUCOCONCIENCIANDO, (I educate the new generations, reeducate the educated) I have to retouch it and write in text the sentences of the photo so that they can translate. It is not necessary to comment, mark relevant, for the moment I prefer to be inactive, until rewritten. I invite you to read it.

with all my respect. I have suffered gender violence in the street with the turbid looks of the men, they have approached me and they have rubbed with me, you have no idea how disgusting that is. I suffered gender violence at the hands of my partners, especially psychological, failed to annul. We ask for recognition and visivilización in the history, in the textbooks that study in the schools. Let us respect each other regardless of how we dress. Like you, I was of the opinion of the isms, until not letting myself be led by opinions, I read another link like the one I have sent and translated. We ask for respect and global recognition, not just in a job.

5, 2017 7:20:46 PM The qiestion you posed is actually rather sexist because it is looking at women as sex objects and basically saying because men are attracted to women maybe they should not be at work.. You said let me pose a question, your husband works in the C-Suite where three of the main executives are female and attractive. Your husband will be going to Las Vegas for a conference with the team for a week. Including these three other attractive females. Does this not present some issues of jealousy for the home. """ You are trying to be supportive of the femminist movment which i iappreciate but the peoblem is you are still looking at it.from a white male lens which is distorted To answer your question if the man is a fucktard crossing profesiossional boundaries and clealry does not value his wife this will create issues but the idea that a man would cheat because other beautiful women exist and this should some how keep attractive women out of the workforce because some horny married man will get a boner is absurd. Men wanting to fuck me has been devastating to my life and career because when i do not want to fuck a married man or a single man i become their enemy for no other reason..Do you know how absurd it is to be in trouble and have my career on the line because some guys says he wants to bend me over and spank me. women being punished for sexual harasent.is big problem in the work place.. . Being a pretty woman hurts because all men think abou is fuxking them an nothing else about what kind of person they are. Being an ugly women hurts becaus some how the woman is a less of a person to men because she is not fuckable.. because men often never see me or other women as a person just a pussy or something to rate on a scale from 1 to 10 this becomes devastating to our personal value as the creators of life. women are divine...women are god like and that is what men are jealous of and insecure about...

i disagree. This is a very clever way for a group of people to slide out of responsbility. your ffeedback on american slavery is just wrong and a way white people have been robbing blacks of their voice by saying oh white people hav been slaves but never like blacks. Your logic is the same as well men have been raped too....but that is not the point and spits all over the truth

It was not a comparison but rather a demonstration that each ends in excluding another. Humanity and its habits to like change and can only grasp it after many encounters that demonstrate the habits ill effects. When we challenge folks through exclusivity it divides and reinforces the habits. Maybe not in words but in deed you will find that it merely gets entrenched. I remember the push by groups of gender equality to demonstrate that the "same" job title was paid less. They won. Then companies came up with a very complex job description that basically separated the titles and continued with the same discriminatory habits. The groups made it about a job title so companies responded in discriminatory ways to satisfy the job title debate. Great discussion but for me i sense that the exclusive group leverage has now run its course. Their are groups for every issue we can think of. It has become a sea of exclusive groups wanting different, and incongruent outcomes. Humanity needs a grass roots effort with organization where each group is speaking from the inside with the goals of the company and equality working side by side.

Let me pose another question. Equality at XYZ, Inc. is reaching equilibrium. Your husband works in the C-Suite where three of the main executives are female and attractive. Your husband will be going to Las Vegas for a conference with the team for a week. Including these three other attractive females. Does this not present some issues of jealousy for the home. Even where trust is strong their is usually the idea of temptation. I have seen this play out many times within organizations. Maybe some posts empowering women that their man can be faithful in this setting and not to worry. My question again is to bring light of the broader issues concerning the relationships of humans and their true habits, concerns and life experience.

Isms are a way to unit unique groups against something in humanity. They are naturally and inherently exclusive of other groups. Discrimination is a social issue of high order but is a human issue of habit, narrative and ingrained behaviors. Separation only strengthens the resolve of the habit. I have always felt that uncovering and changing the habits of humans is best done from within the group or organization. Exclusivity sets us apart and creates defensive perimeters around the sparring groups. Although each may gain some ground, compromise will be the best achieved. Now some of the comments here speak to crime and crime against humanity. I am not referring to this segment of your discussion. I refer to the workplace and opportunities often shutoff by other exclusive groups. I am amazed with all the great posts, books and other materials of leadership we still feel that exclusivity in causes will work. Exclusivity only separates the battlefields and now we are not working within the organization but outside. Empowering women within the workplace is something that i would want to be a part of, but feminist movements or other causes that separate us from each other only serve divisiveness. Why not write a post about how women can demonstrate their value within the workplace through means you provide. How to be noticed as a player etc...

hahahaha, not for me. I love your hair and your energy, force. Not all bees follow the same bees, I ask them and make them known to you. With Carmen, we will create a list with guidelines to detect, very important, there are still many acts that people do not recognize and how to help victims of gender violence, based on Ministry guidelines. #niunamenos Vega liked my listing, and with her help and several more bees will we grow. do you know of any woman leader, that is not in the books and that we should make visible? Tell us. Mission to make us visible. 💜💪

Kevin BakerYou cannot say that men are not the problem. Of course not all individuals are responsible for the gender inequality, but clearly men have been oppressing women and not to be able to say it because it offends men is unfair. That is like denying the voice of black people over white enslavement.

We see, then, that feminism is a social movement, while elmachism is an attitude, it is clear that comparing both terms makes no sense. People with macho attitudes and behaviors regard women as inferior beings, with fewer rights than men. The feminist movement, on the other hand, tries to achieve an egalitarian society, in which there is an equal opportunity for women and men. Machismo is found in all societies and has strong implications for the development of people from birth, because when treating children differently is prevented to develop skills and attitudes that a non-sexist education could foster. Machista attitudes reduce women to mere objects at the service of men. It is difficult that no one today defines itself as macho, but as Luis Bonino says "there is still much machismo hidden." In speaking of the feminist movement we do so in a broad sense, that is, all mobilization that women, throughout history, have carried out against the patriarchal societies that limit their rights. Within feminism there are different currents of thought and ways of approaching the discrimination situation of women.

Feminism is: Social doctrine favorable to women, to whom it grants capacity and rights previously reserved to men. Movement that demands for women equal rights for men.Machismo is: Attitude of arrogance of males with respect to women. Victoria Sau [1] says: "Feminism, is a social and political movement that began formally at the end of the eighteenth century - although not yet adopted this denomination - and which involves the awareness of women as a group or human collective, oppression, domination, and exploitation of which has been and is the object of the collective of men within the patriarchy under its different historical phases of production model, which moves them to action for the liberation of their sex with all the transformations of society that it requires. " "Machismo are physical or verbal acts, by means of which the sexism underlying the social structure is manifested in a vulgar and inappropriate way (...) The machista usually acts as such without being able to explain or give account of the internal reason of its acts. He merely puts into practice in a rude way, what the sexism of the culture to which he belongs by nationality and social status gives him. " Marcuse in "Marxism and feminism" says that the feminist movement acts on two levels: one, the struggle to achieve complete equality in social, cultural and economic; two, "beyond equality" aims at building a society in which the male-female dichotomy is overcome. https://brizas.wordpress.com/2010/07/06/definicion-de-conceptos-feminismo-no-es-lo-contrario-de-machismo/

Feminism, chauvinism, racism and all the isms share a common thread, they are exclusive and not inclusive. All with the pretense of being less than another. This is more a factual statement than negative statement of my opinion of the various ism's. My opinion is that it will be difficult to achieve equality in humanity while being exclusive. Food for thought.

Lyon, It is a sad truth that this idiocy continues. I've heard it said that it is because at some point we stopped worshiping a female god and took up with male dominated religions. Whether that is true or not we need to stop enslaving half the human race Imho.

Thank you Lyon Brave for sharing your enthusiasm and your dedication. Gender equality is to promote opportunities for women and men to obtain decent work in conditions of freedom, equity, security and human dignity, without any bias. Sadly, gender inequality still exists globally despite of substantial national and international measures that have been taken towards gender equality. The remedy could emanate from the cultural tradition of citizenry to influencing change and promoting the value of women and men, as the only way to live together.
