Back From The Holidays
I took a break from blogging during the holidays. Not much happened for me. Unless you have kids around for Thanksgiving and Christmas the holidays mean lots of extra food. That's always a bonus.
There were some interesting articles I read on cleaning up the environment and energy conservation I read over the holidays. I even found a link that shows how to build off grid power generators that can power a house.
It’s been open sourced so you can build one of them for yourself, but there are patents on them so it’s not a good idea to build them to sell. The reading also seems pretty technical. Some of it talks about going to a machine shop.
I wonder if all of this attention to the environment and looking for alternative fuels might be too little too late-
I sure hope not!
One of the things Stephen Hawking said before he passed on was resources were running out of natural resources and that we have to go into space and become an interplanetary species to survive. Now we’re sending people to Mars in a few years.
Go figure!
There’s lots of talk about the government shut down because of a border wall.
When I was twenty years old a friend of mine went to work for the Border Patrol. He told me there’s cameras at the border that film when motion sensors are tripped.
They know when people come across the border. They also know where the rivers are where people get water, places to hunt for food, and where the small towns are where people can get support.
Within a week they know whose looking for work and who the police are going to investigate for selling drugs and doing stupid shit. That was 31 years ago. Technology has gotten to the point where a satellite can take a picture of a beetle on the ground from space and information networks have also gotten a lot better.
I don’t know what Trump means by securing the border. There’s already a good system in place. I’m just a guy from a small town and he’s the President - But what he wants to do doesn't make sense to me. Since I have no interest in working in Congress it’s probably above my pay grade.
Well I hope everyone who reads my blog has a good New Year! It’s back to classes and finding a part time job for me.
