Who's Your Hero?
The college is closing for Christmas break after today. Since it will probably be good for me to go offline for a while, I don’t mind. It will be good to spend time with family who are in town during Christmas break.
Walked around campus to take a break from being online. There’s a lot of reading in the writing course I’m taking. I must like blogging because there’s a lot of time I’m putting into reading about how to get better at it.
It seems like I don’t actually do anything sometimes because there’s no finished product at the when the day is over. There’s no concrete poured or walls put up since I’m not on a construction site. There’s not any crab or fish in a hold of a fishing boat because I’m not in Alaska. No one can see any boxes loaded on a truck or stacked on pallets because I’m not in a warehouse.
Sometimes it’s hard for me to see any progress in my classes in college and online because the work isn’t like a labor job and that’s what I know. I’m in these classes to learn new things because it’s in my nature to keep moving. It’s what I do.
When I went home yesterday one of the dogs in the house had lost an eye. Someone was talking about putting her down because of it. I just walked up and petted her and told my Cousin Ralph dogs are the toughest animals people have. They can get hit by a car, walk through fire, loose an eye or a leg and it won’t phase them as long as they know someone cares about them. There wasn’t any reason to put her to sleep.
She rolled over and wanted me to scratch her belly. Sure enough, this morning she was running around like nothing happened.
Dogs Are My Heroes!
