Men, Emotions and Intuition

RECONNECTING MEN TO THEIR
EMOTIONS AND INTUITION.

Society has for many decades erroneously carved up emotions and intuition along gender bias. Women being emotional, intuitive, “crazy” and wrong and men being logical, intelligent “reasonable” and right. And in some ways this can be seen in all of our understanding of everything even to the moon being feminine and unstable (her cycles of waning and waxing) versus the sun being male, steadfast and true.

But is this division of the heart and mind, body and soul serving humanity in the 21st century?

Traditionally over many hundreds of years men have been taught to hide their softer side, their fears and sorrows under the energy of physical male pride, dominance and power. To trust their gut instincts to defend and hunt but to subjugate their tender feelings and any signs of self-doubt. This disconnects men from themselves and usually happens in childhood as then are taught to use their fists rather than cry.

When anyone – male or female, has to hide part of themselves in order to be acceptable to society then a series of emotions are felt in order to maintain the suppression.

These generally are:

Hurt – isolation – shame – anger (at yourself and those who have shamed you) – fear (of expressing your emotions and being shamed further) - depression – resentment ….

And then the cycle begins again and becomes more entrenched.

To release the tension and pressure build-up periodic outbursts of self-harm and violence to others, (male or female) will most likely happen before being brought back under the “mask of you” and tamped down by alcohol or drugs until the next eruption.

But why is expressing the emotions so important?

Firstly because it is the “how you feel about everything in your life” that lets you know what is meaningful to you.

Your feelings are your interface with the world. They help you decide what you want to experience more of and less of. Closing your feelings down or limiting them to only a few expressions such as happy, sad, fear, anger, depressed etc limits your enjoyment of the world and your experience in your physical body and over a period of time leads to physical disease, as your immune and endocrine systems are severely impaired by this emotional suppression.

This narrow scale of emotions also limits your senses to feel joy, pleasure, delight, excitement and bliss which in turn pushes you to more extreme emotional swings.

Importantly if you are not able to express your emotions or have deadened or suppressed emotions you will also lack the connection to your finer mind or intuition.

Your intuition is a bit like the interface to your soul’s blueprint. It is pre-programmed with all the information, skills, talents and desires to enable you to have the experience you wanted when you arrived here on earth.

From years of working with men and women and looking at the dynamics of emotions through the filter of the Spirit I feel the biggest issue for our planet is not climate change or globalisation. It is much closer to home. It is the fear we have of each other as man and woman.

And at the core root of fear what are we afraid of?  Each other’s power.

Men fear the shifting nature of the feminine to create, procreate, change and transform on the turn of an emotion and always directed through the intuition. Women in their true power are dynamically changeable and transformative. They are dangerous, tempestuous manipulative and destructive yet also loving. Life and death are possible in a woman’s hands.

Women fear the logical nature of the masculine to find the quickest route, “cut through the waffle”, the driven, reasoning of men, along with their physical power, their quick-to-anger frustration and dominance and their need to be right. They are dangerous, tempestuous, overbearing and destructive. Death is possible in a man’s hands but so too is protection.

Men who have accessed their emotions and intuition know when to be dangerous and in command and when to be thoughtful, protective and tender.

Everyone needs to be in their personal dominant power. This way there is no fear which in turn allows for communication, openness, connection, respect and ultimately love in word and action.

We have a long way to go to get to that place but honouring all of us no matter what our gender,  is the way forward.

Thanks for sharing Preston and being able to recognise the sacred and complimentary balance of your masculine and your wife's feminine. There is no comparison or competition when both parties appreciate the strengths in each other.
