Sustainable instruments and accessories, 1st part

Hi everybody! After centuries of evolution what guitar and all instruments should head? Where this evolution (or part of it) should go? As I see it at least part of this evolution is to create more sustainable instruments and products. There are already many companies and manufacturers who do that. This article is to inform you of what I've found and I use. I hope you find this interesting.

Product 1: In this photo you can see a "Snap Jack Cable" and a case with two straight extra jacks.

Why do I say it's sustainable with the environment? Well these cables are formed of the cable itself with one magnet on each end and two jack ends, straight or in "L", also magnetic.

Some people on internet say the jacks separate involuntarily from the cable especially in live concerts, although I have them to teach my lessons for a reason I'm going to explain later and they don't separate so easily from the cable, you need to pull with the right measure to separate them. But, yes... if you are playing live and jump, move... it may happen. For example, do you see the jack in "L" on the left of the fist photo? I've put it backwards cos the magneto pulls so, the two pieces could not be separated to take the photo, they would attract each other and join by themselves.

In this photo you can see a Snap Jack cable in its case. Note the jacks are separated from the cable.

And in the next pic below you can see the usual guitar cables. I've opened the protective cover so you can see the connections that has inside. I spend so many cables during the school year (giving my lessons) I have an entire bag of broken cables. Then I have to solder them to avoid throwing away to garbage so... to the environment, so many meters of cable just because the jacks (the ends) are damaged: they use to spoil when sitting, moving, connecting the amp... It's uncomfortable to solder and many people don't know how, so these cables end in the garbage and... the environment since it's even cheaper to buy a new one than find somebody to fix the old one.

And if you need a "L" end and then a straight one you just need to change the jack and keep using the same cable all the time. That's why I said these cables are very useful for lessons.

And if the cable is plugged to the instrument and amp and you disconnect it separating the magnetos (to talk by the phone for example) it doesn't make any noise!

I'm going to write a second part of this article to share other different products made by other companies which are also sensitized with this. I like this existing trend of sustainable instruments and that's why I wanted to share this with all of you. Kind regards to all!
