Bread-fast for breakfast: Artisanal Bread Recipes
An American breakfast is incomplete without bread. Artisanal bread is very beneficial. The process of baking it preserves a lot of nutrients that are otherwise lost in commercial baking. It's tastier, healthier and can be baked in a nick of time. Let’s bake and make it. First and foremost, we'll prepare a basic dough that’s common for all artisanal bread recipes we'll talk about. However, some of our recipes may need to add extra ingredients while mixing.

Ingredients for dough:-
Lukewarm water- 3 cups
Granulated yeast- One and a half tablespoons
Coarse salt- One and a half tablespoons
Unbleached all-purpose flour- Six and a half cups
Let's mix it:-
Take lukewarm water in a five-quart bowl and add yeast to it. Mix in the flour and salt. There’s no need to knead. When the mixture becomes equally moist, you’re done with the mixing part. Make sure that the dough is moist and very loose to take the shape of the container. The dough would absorb air and would rise. Cover the lid basic(not with an airtight one). Leave it to rise for two hours. In some cases, it may take more time depending on the room temperature. Refrigerate it. The fully refrigerated dough becomes easier to work with(as it's less sticky). Crusty white bread- Sprinkle the refrigerated dough with flour. Pull off a part of the dough and round it into a ball. Place it on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Leave it for 60 minutes. Preheat the oven to 470 F. Before baking, slash it 2-3 times. Now, bake it for 25-35 minutes. You'll get a golden brown crusty white bread.
Tuscan herb artisanal bread- We'll follow the same procedure to make the dough. Just add a few more ingredients before mixing the dough- one and a half tablespoons of sugar and olive oil each. Also add half-half teaspoons of dried oregano, basil, marjoram and thyme each. Now, mix it and prepare the dough. Bake it the same way and you'll get a light golden brown bread.
Gluten-free artisanal bread- Use Cup4Cup gluten-free flour instead of normal flour to make the dough. Then, bake it following the same instructions as of the first one. Hence, we got a new kind of artisanal bread with just a few changes.
Roasted garlic rosemary bread- Roast some garlic wrapped in a piece of aluminum foil. While mixing the dough, add roasted garlic and rosemary. Follow the normal mixing and baking procedure. After baking the bread, let it cool for 15-30 minutes. Slice and butter it. You're ready to go.
Whole-grain artisanal bread- Follow the same procedure of mixing and baking. Before placing it in the oven, use a pastry brush to paint the top of rising loaf with water. Sprinkle a mixture of sesame, poppy, raw sunflower, caraway and flaxseed. This would make a very healthy breakfast.
