Face To The Floor

Face To The Floor

8de3dbcc.jpg

I can't move and I can't crawl so this must definitely not be your usual brawl

What If I could give the alert, my memory is not the target in fact it's very much alive and perfect, it's as sharp and robust as it can get

I would almost forget I have just been lethally wounded by a bullet

Rich or poor what do you do when closed is the door?

I know now that I have way too much stuff under the carpet that I should stop treating life as if it was a pet

What you don't know you cannot forget even when you have just been lethally wounded by a bullet

Do you know how to sit on a stool with two legs because I don't

I was told it's no good idea to walk on eggs, of those quotes I am no adept in fact I think they are for the most part inept

I want to shout:  spare me the concept, I have just been literally wounded by a bullet

Never before I have had my face so close to the floor

They said he was coming from a background so poor, that he worked in the harbour dealing with the freight

I bet that will not make me forget I have just been lethally wounded by a bullet

Life scent is still warm and my skin still smells of my first bought after shave balm

I have never drank hard liquor and I smiled at the thought of my mum shaken to the core looking at me with horror

I beam with upset when I almost forget I have just been lethally wounded by a bullet

This time this is not a little cock up this is really messed up

This time I really won one of the most fucked up cup this is not a scuffle at the local fete

I find it hard to accept that no more I will be able to forget because a few minutes ago I have just been mortally shot at with a bullet

Lyrics/ "Soco Amaretto Lime"

Passed out on the overpass
Sunday best and broken glass
Broken down from the bikes and bars
Suspended like spirits over speeding cars
You and me were kings over the parkway tonight
And tonight will go on forever while we
walk around this town like we own the streets
and stay awake through summer like we own the heat
Singing "everybody wake up (wake up) it's time to get down"
(everybody, everybody wake up its time to get down)
And when I pass the bottle back to Pete
on the overpass tonight, I bet we laugh

I'm gonna stay eighteen forever (cut me open)
So we can stay like this forever (sun poisoned)
And we'll never miss a party (this offer...)
cause we keep them going constantly (...stands forever)
And we'll never have to listen (new haircut)
to anyone about anything (new bracelet)
cause it's all been done and it's all been said (eyeliner)
we're the coolest kids and we take what we can get

The hell out of this town
Find some conversation
The low fuel lights been on for days
It doesn't mean anything
I've got another 500, 'nother 500 miles
before we shut this engine down,
we shut it down

I'm gonna stay eighteen forever (cut me open)
So we can stay like this forever (sun poisoned)
And we'll never miss a party (this offer...)
cause we keep them going constantly (...stands forever)
And we'll never have to listen (new haircut)
to anyone about anything (new bracelet)
cause it's all been done and it's all been said (eyeliner)
we're the coolest kids and we take what we can get (wait forever)

(you're just jealous cause I'm young and in love)
Eighteen forever (first kisses)
(your stomach's filled up but you're starved for conversation)
So we can stay like this forever (new stitches)
(you're spending all your nights growing old in your bed)
And we'll never miss a party (collar weekend)
(and your tearin up your photos cause you wanna forget... it's over)
cause we keep them going constantly (appearance ticket)
(you're just jealous cause I'm young and in love)
And we'll never have to listen (November to...)
(your stomach's filled up but you're starved for conversation)
to anyone about anything cause it's all been done (...remember)
(you're spending all your nights growing old in your bed)
and it's all been said (nightswimmers)
(and your tearin up your photos cause you wanna forget... it's over)
we're the coolest kids and we take what we can get

Just jealous cause we're young and in love
You're just jealous cause we're young and in love
You're just jealous cause we're young and in love
You're just jealous cause we're young and in love
You're just jealous cause we're young and in love
You're just jealous...

I feel fear...an absolute anguished desperation of a life slipping away...Isn't it so interesting the clarity of a moment like this? Death brings us closer to what it really means to live... Great buzz Pascal Derrien;-)

thanks Lisa Vanderburg indeed a mere attempt on my part to explore that bit albeit very superficially I presume :-)

It's the randomness that's so appealing to me Pascal Derrien; I can feel the body in shock, the mortality of broken bits of irregular thoughts and memories as that life begins to leave. Intriguing!

I'm not sure what this all means just yet. If I lived in Ireland I would take you out for a drink and quiz you on it. But we would definitely not go to any of your usual places. Because obviously they are hazardous to your health. There are flashes of brilliance wrapped in confusion. It's interesting. It's decidedly irregular. But they said that about James Joyce too.

Pascal, you had me at "I can't move and I can't crawl" You have captured a nihilistic viewpoint that is at once fascinating and abhorrent. I envy your courage to walk such dangerous paths.
