Only Fools Love Fossils

Only Fools Love Fossils

Only fools love fossils. These few words are probably an insignificant contribution compared to what great orators and writers might produce, but maybe the sum of all small things can influence bigger challenges. Recently I just thought I was getting very tired of being told what to do, what to say, what about you? You and I are going to do big things, no matter how small they may look to others.

Recently Obama did just that with the integration bill, his opponents the vigorous nay Sayers are the only fools I know who can trip because they are not realizing the obstacle is already behind them but the U.S president understands all too well that energy integration is the practice of connecting and enabling multiple power sources so they can work in collaboration. All it requires is a bit of coordination and answering some basic questions:

  • How do you ignite country-wide engagement by giving everyone involved a clear stake in success?
  • How do you standardize energy best practices, and customize a formal national energy management plan?

The good news is that people’s energy is renewable but at the same time very fragile. Importing foreign energy to supplement the running of any country is a smart move and frankly there is no other choice either. Indeed, most cities will run out of power by 2030 if they don’t supplement their daily manpower demand by importing external supplies.

In fact, in `` If Mayors ruled the world``, Dr Benjamin Barber says that the concept of nations will probably also become obsolete at some point, cities will be the most efficient form of governance soon, for that we will all need to learn to live together, regardless of our origins or birth place and embrace the commonality of our differences.

But there is a lot of work that need to take place to get there and quickly too, I am outright terrified that we urgently need to inject some serum of clairvoyance to obscurantism, unless you have been suffering from attention deficit disorder UKIP, Pegida, United Irish Independent Party, Al Qaeda, Front National, Extreme-Left Parties and other ISIS feel like Déjà vu right?

In simple terms it is the ``I hate you if you don’t love me`` attitude, we have been at it for centuries, it is such a binary attitude that sometimes I wonder which step we have missed on Darwin`s evolution principle. Come on would you not agree that it is sometimes difficult to understand how people can still fall for that one?

If you have forgotten the gift that it is not strictly speaking how you sound, the way you look or what God you believe in that ONLY defines you as an individual, I guess we are in deep trouble. By the way unless you are fanatically in denial, if like me you don’t believe in any religion your point of view does not carry any more weight or legitimacy too. Two negatives don’t make a positive and I suppose world lesson givers require some education and coaching too.

If you have forgotten that you have a role to play in all this, it is also probably imperative and urgent to accept and understand that you cannot any longer rest on somebody else laurels. I know you will be probably apprehensive, black and blue with frustration and perhaps experience pale sadness, get cold feet even in front of the daunting task at hand, we desperately need some clean energy.

So how do we maximize positive energy? I am not sure about how answering that question. Maybe it just starts with simple steps, an intent. There’s probably no need for a big statement, what if there was no point in building a new energy system from scratch, instead we should maybe perfect the system we live in by optimizing it and just open the pool of resources widely.

That’s why I love energetic social entrepreneurs, co-ops and other Don Quichottes they don’t claim they change the world they quietly do it from within. No need for marketing or ultra-PR stunt, thousands of social entrepreneurs , Click-tivists , cartoonists and other civic and economic leaders backed up by thousands of regular guys (and girls) are doing this every day, we just need more of them.

Interestingly enough I was told the Social Enterprise landscape is muting from largely parochial structures to having a more global impact, the Guardian says ``In an Exporting Social Enterprise report published by Social Enterprise UK and The British Council this week, two-thirds of social enterprises said they expected to grow their offshore ventures in the next three months``. In the same article they outline how social enterprise is becoming an emerging force in Pakistan ``

New social start-ups tackling water, energy and construction challenges in Pakistan hope to help break the country’s reliance on aid``.

This is encouraging for those who want the world to be a slightly more inclusive one.

In the end, there is really no need for fracking in our society be it in the US or anywhere else for that matter, the question is how will we get rid of the fooling energy preventing us from fuelling our wildest dreams? Where do we stand on this?

So fool or a fossil? What essence are you filling your engine with? To me it is simple and clear we are all

HUMAN DYNAMOS

Perhaps, there will be more harnessing power and betterment in societies, when nations begin thinking this world as global village, and mankind is treated in terms of humanity rather than color, creed, language or race.
