6 Reasons Why You Should Share to Twitter, Really!

6 Reasons Why You Should Share to Twitter, Really!

Bb

astAs you may have heard, I will be publishing an eZine, "beBee's Best." The inaugural issue will be on January 15th, 2018. The idea is to publish the most popular articles as voted by the general beBee membership.

That sounds nice but poses the question, "How do we define "popular?"

Actually, the real question is, "How do we define 'popular' in a way that the vote collecting and tabulation processes can be fully automated. There is no way that I will spend my days scrolling through the Producer tab manually checking views, relevants, and shares.

That's where Share to Twitter comes in. I'm the founder of myTweetPack. I set my servers to collect shares to Twitter for beBee Producer articles. I also set them to ignore any automated posting of shares. I want a level playing field.

Every time anyone shares a beBee article to Twitter, that article is submitted for consideration. Anyone can submit an article for consideration, but eventual publication will require the author's approval.

NEW - Voting will now be by Relevants. Clicking Relevant triggers a vote.
At least that's what we'll try next

Until there is a beBee API, this will have to do.

I'm not just talking about sharing your own stuff, here. I'm also talking about sharing other people's stuff. Here, I'll show you how that benefits you both.

Yes, both of you benefit.

First, Let's Cut some Bullshit about Twitter itself

There's a lot of talk about how Twitter is stagnant. People say it's stuck at 350,000 people. People say, "Forget Twitter! Facebook has 2 billion users! LinkedIn has 450 million!"

Who cares?

How many of those 2 billion or 450 million can you reach? You'd be lucky to reach a bare third of your own followers. Reaching under ten percent of your followers is more likely.

Do you still think that 2 billion users number is important?

Yes, Twitter only has 350 million users. Over a third of them are active at least weekly. Combine that with the fact that Twitter is, by far, the easiest platform on which to build an audience, and you start seeing the value.

Add in the fact that your tweets go on every follower's timeline, and you start seeing more value.

This Post is not about Working Twitter Properly

No, it's about community. It's about the mutual support we are famous for. It's about the swarming that we all believe us bees do.

Since I restarted vote collecting four days ago, only 48 people voted at all. Less than twenty have voted more than 3 times.

I'm disappointed. When I get disappointed, I do something about it. More on that a little later.

If you don't have a Twitter account, get one.
If your Twitter account isn't linked to your beBee account, link it

Reason 2 to Share - Raise your Twitter Feed's quality

Sharing posts that resonate with you posts them on your timeline. It follows that if the post resonated with you, it must have some redeeming qualities.

Putting good stuff on your feed positions you as a source for good stuff. It makes you more follow-worthy. Maybe that's not as good as sponge-worthy, but it isn't a bad thing.

Reason 3 to Share - Attract Targeted Followers

The post resonated with you enough to share it. Don't you think that those people who like it or retweet it are kindred spirits? At the very least, they like what you like.

Follow-back the ones you want.

Reason 4 to Share - The author will appreciate it.

If you enjoyed the post, let the author know. If nothing else, it will let them know they're on the right track.

They'll write more stuff. You'll have more stuff to enjoy. More stuff to enjoy means more stuff to share.

You've heard of "vicious circles?" Well, this is a "warm and fuzzy" circle.

If your vote puts them in the eZine, they will be happier still. That eZine will be promoted to about 1,000,000 eyeballs.

Authors will dance their happy dance. Maybe some of them will do a Live Buzz of that happy dance.

We can only hope.

Reason 5 to Share - It's so damned easy to do

Really, sharing to Twitter from beBee is a three-click process. It takes about 2 seconds to do.

If you take the trouble to write a comment, you may as well click three times and generate a vote.

Here's how.

- At the bottom of every article, right next to the Relevant button, is a Share button. Click it to get a drop-down selection.

- Click on Twitter

- In the window that will open, click "tweet." Done

Reason 6 to Share - It's your voice, let's hear it

Make yourself heard. Let everyone know what you like, and what you appreciate.

Helping to promote what you like is the best way to get more of it.
