Mastery Requires Longevity and Deliberate Practice
Loving what you do leads to greater confidence in who you are being. The human mind is like a garden which may either be cultivated or allowed to run wild. Either way, it will bring forth fruit. If no useful seeds are put into it, then an abundance of useless weed-seeds will fall, accumulate and reproduce their own kind.
Just as the master gardener cultivates his plot, keeping it free from weeds and cultivating the flowers and fruits, we are the director of our lives. With ever increasing accuracy, our thoughts and actions shape our character, circumstances and results.
Find the motivating factor that will cause you to practice the emotional labor to achieve your goal. If you continue to move toward your desired results you are rewarded with dopamine, the feel good hormone. The release of endorphins temporarily masks any physical pain that might stop you from moving forward toward your desired results.
STAGE I: Unconscious Incompetence
During the first stage of the journey we are blissfully unconscious and incompetent. We experience this stage as one of connectedness and innocence. This is the bliss stage, where our ignorance of our own incompetence keeps us happily unaware of our need to grow.
STAGE II: Conscious Incompetence
This stage is characterized by awareness of a problem or desired result, as well as confusion about how to solve it. Stage II is necessary step for integration and growth.
STAGE III: Conscious Competence
In this stage you have become both aware and able to take to necessary actions to achieve your desired results.
STAGE IV: Mastery
This stage combines the bliss of Stage I with the wisdom of a master. Your actions reflect the authenticity and emotional intelligence that inspire high levels of engagement and results.
