Great Work Requires Great Consciousness

Great Work Requires Great Consciousness

The greatest gift we can offer those we serve as leaders is the example of our awakened consciousness. Acceptance, enjoyment and enthusiasm is our greatest source of motivation and creativity. The process of becoming more conscious requires the development of our emotional muscles. The path to greater consciousness and our willingness to embrace change requires us to strengthen these muscles. The world is challenging us to raise our level of consciousness.

For most of our evolution we have prized physical muscles. With the advent of the industrial and information ages we began placing greater value on our intellectual muscles. But now during this time of rapid and accelerating global change the development of our emotional muscles will have the greatest impact on individual and organizational results.

It is important to understand no one can obtain results beyond their current level of consciousness. We need to raise our level of consciousness to obtain better results. The challenge most of us face is that emotional labor is the most difficult type of work for us to perform. Until now it has been the easiest type of work for us to avoid. We were never been trained to do this type of work. The development of our authenticity and emotional intelligence will lead to greater consciousness and results.
