    "Every customer has different needs” only applies to the whole person. Not true whether selling produce, a product or a service because you’re not satisfying the whole person, only that part that has the need that you’re offering to satisfy.

    "Segmenting your customers into different tiers, such as one-time customers and VIP customers, becomes crucial. It allows you to separate high spending customers from low spending customers”- ouch!!!!!! Low spenders may be the bread and butter of the company’s success and because your posting doesn't highlight the small but important segment of the market to whom you're providing this advice, you could be offering harm.

    Quoting IBM is a tongue in cheek action because there’s not too much love in the market place for them or any major corporation unless it serves career objectives. There are many who don't want to do business with the big guys because of perceptions.

    When writing articles like this, one needs to identify market segments. Looking at your reference points it suggests you’re focussed on the technology segment of the market where the volumes are relatively small and outside of the mass consumption market the likes of cellphones and other high volume technology products. So let's not give advice where it can do harm.

    Outside of that, an excellent read and you're absolutely correct to highlighting the profitability gain when reducing wastage such as customer turnover and cost to onboard new customers. I don't recall seeing reference to natural attrition, was that a deliberate omission or was that factored into the statistics quoted?
