5 Life Changing Lessons From TONY ROBBINS

5 Life Changing Lessons From TONY ROBBINS

There are different speakers and authors who's books and audios I love to read and listen to. Each have inspired me in different areas of my life. Such people are Robert Kiyosaki, Donald Trump, Napoleon Hill, Dale Carnegie, and Zig Ziglar are just a few. Right now I want to share with you another. His name is Tony Robbins.

Tony Robbins is an American businessman, author, and philanthropist. He became well known from his infomercials and self-help books: Unlimited Power, Unleash the Power Within and Awaken the Giant Within.

I, myself, love to listen to his audios and the way he helps others see their potential they never knew they had. He is a great example of a leader.

One of my favorite of his quotes is, “If you do what you’ve always done, you’ll get what you’ve always gotten.” He is basically rewording you reap what you sow.

Here are the 5 biggest lessons that I’ve learned from listening and reading material of Tony Robbins:

 1. Action is the key to success.

Taking action is the key to attaining success because action is the only thing that will ignite progress. And, progress or moving forward is the key to cultivating happiness. Your brain needs to know that you are accomplishing something and moving forward toward your desire or goal. If you remain stagnant, you prevent yourself from observing evidence of progress toward your goal — and your brain translates that lack of evidence as failure.

Of course, action is different for everyone. We all make different choices for ourselves. But, ultimately, the choices that you make will determine your future, so choose wisely. I also wanted to add the phrase “Consistent Action” to his phrase.

2. Success is not just about positive thinking.

Success is seeing your situation as it is, and telling yourself the truth. You really need to be honest with yourself. Then, you need to see your situation as better than it is. You need to train yourself to be in a state of certainty that your present circumstance is better than it seems. That state of certainty then propels you forward into action.

3. If you want to change your mood, change your state.

During moments of fear, worry, depression, sadness and concern, our physical posture changes. We start to droop and to cross our arms in front of our body, as if trying to hug the fear away. This physical posture then makes you feel even worse!

But you can change the way you feel (your state), simply by changing your physical posture.

Standing up tall, pulling your shoulders back, sticking your chest out and raising your chin so that your head is tilting slightly back puts your body into a confident stance. The new stance, which is cognitively associated with power and authority then changes your state from negative to positive.

On my worst days, when I was feeling extremely exhausted and worried about my health, I would use this technique. In fact, since I knew that posture affected my state of mind, I did every thing in my power to always get out of bed and get dressed. No matter what. At the very least, I moved to the couch. But throughout the day, I would stand up and assume a confident posture just to help myself fight against the fear and panic that was brewing inside me. It is also laws of the universe, “a body at rest tends to stay at rest, while a body in motion tends to stay in motion.”

4. Live with an attitude of gratitude.

Tony says, “when you are grateful, fear disappears and abundance appears”. And, I can’t agree more. I started a serious daily practice of gratitude this year, and I must say
it’s helped me so much.

Think about this, “If we do not feel grateful for what we already have, what makes us think we’d be happy with more?” Everyday should be a day of Thanksgiving. Be thankful for what you have; you’ll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don’t have, you will never, ever have enough.

“Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.” (Matthew 6:34)

5. The past does not equal the future.

My present circumstance has nothing to do with my future experience. Things can change in an instant because I have the power to change my story. I know in my heart of heart that my future does not include chronic illness. In fact, I can see my future self clearly: it’s energetic, free, confident, loving, fun, present and grateful.

What has happened to me today does not influence who I am tomorrow.

Tony is one of those who has helped me to wade through uncertainty, and I am grateful.
