When recruiters are looking for interested candidates who are a fit for their company, they mostly go by the job description checklist in their hands. At the initial moments of the hiring process, that is the checklist that can tell them if the applicant's skill set matches that of the requirement, or not. 

Till the moment they meet the applicant, all they have access to is a CV and the application form that the candidate has filled. HR professionals put in considerable effort in the scanning all of them, to select CVs of professionals who are best-suited for the job. 

Only when the candidate turns up for the interview, and goes through the rituals of technical and HR round apart from the many other rounds that are decided based on the requirements of the company that the HR and hiring manager get to know about the aptitude and the attitude of the candidate.

I have been on both sides of the table, and have gotten a good understanding of one fact: both aptitude and attitude go hand-in-hand when it comes to creating a successful career for yourself and for the company you are working for. 

Any company that is hiring, would like their employees to align their goals to that of the company. Something that fuels and strengthens the values of accountability and responsibility in the employee. 

An employee with good attitude would be inclined to learning more and bringing value to the company. Their aptitude will help them learn and grow faster within the organization. It is for this reason, interviewers stress on learning more about the candidate's passions, talents, what drives them to put in their best, and what sort of value can they bring to the company.

Company-specific tasks and processes can always be taught and the new employee can be given quality training to help them direct their skills towards realizing the organizational goals. 

But, how open is the employee to accept the goals of the company as his, and how empathetic he is towards the pain points of its internal and external customers? That is something only time will tell, as an interviewer won't be able to calibrate a candidate's actual aptitude and attitude, which they have developed well over two decades, at least.

For the HR, it becomes an easier process of going through the profiles of applicants, while applicants can be sure that their beBee profile will give recruiters a ground-level viewing of whether they are a fit for the job or not. This saves them a lot of time from interviewing for a job they are not really fit for. 

A win-win for both recruiters and job-seekers, alike!
