Game of Drones: Ava the surprising Beta Technologies eVTOL
The electric flight is a growing sector of the transportation industry, the Beta Technologies Company; HQ is located at 265 Aviation Avenue South Burlington , EE.UU. Launched in 2018 the design of the largest electric plane in the world in eVTOL format and began manufacturing the world's first megawatt-scale aircraft recharging station. Born under the leadership of Kyle Clark who founded eleven companies and with a team inspired by the accomplishments of Wright Brothers and Igor Sikorsky, they consider themselves more like an F1 team than a traditional aerospace provider.
The company is funded by its first client, United Therapeutics, dedicated to the health sector. The prototype eVTOL, called Ava, will execute a cross-country flight in the spring or summer of this year, at the same time that the final production configuration will be revealed. The company has already executed more than 170 flights and the prototype aircraft showed that it can reach a top speed of 273 km /h ( 170 mph ) and has a range of 240 km ( 150 miles ).
The Beta Technologies model is one of the few eVTOL that did not start its life as an aircraft of the Part 103 of the FAA regulations, in fact its fuselage resembles more traditional small commercial aircraft than the more advanced designs in aesthetic terms presented by other companies, with a wingspan of 10 meters ( 34 feet ) and a weight of 1,800 kilos ( 4,000 pounds ), has become a very serious participant in the emerging eVTOL market and in fact is likely to become in the fastest eVTOL to date when the official flights begin.
