Choosing the right platform is an important step to increase your marketplace reach and target the right audience. To enable you to decide the best environment for mobile app development, consider the following factors:

  • Purpose behind developing an application- Most E-Commerce business owners who are a little skeptical about entering the mobile market are likely to test the waters beforehand. In such cases, developing a hybrid mobile app makes more sense than the native app. It acts as a minimum viable product (MVP) to get a rough idea of the app’s popularity and how the masses receive the app interface. Post analysis, you may proceed to create a native application.

  • Budget for development- The budget set by you for app development is a decisive factor when choosing the right platform. While hybrid mobile apps work across platforms, native mobile apps are platform-oriented so the budget required for native app development is significantly higher.

  • Time required- Hybrid apps have a single codebase for all operating systems while native apps have multiple codebases - one for each individual platform. Clearly, hybrid apps are easy to develop/manage and require less development time than its counterpart.

Native mobile apps are fast, reliable, and their user interface is compatible with individual platforms. It delivers superior performance at the cost of more development time and money. So, analyze these key factors carefully before you choose what’s best for you: native or hybrid.
