I Love Teddy Bears, Sassy Kittens, and beBee: Don't You?
My sassy kitten would like a moment of your time. Please indulge him.
He's normally cute and cuddly, but, as you can see, something's affecting his usual sunny disposition.
I'll let him explain.
With growth, comes change.
beBee has focused on growth, therefore, there will be change. There's no denying it.
Studies indicate that many people find it difficult to accept change. beBee is a case in point.
People cling to their comfort zones like children to teddy bears.* It's only natural.
Hopefully, growth leads to maturity. It is our responsibility to encourage it.
There will be growing pains. They're being experienced right now.
BeBee is not what it was yesterday. It will not be what it is today and it will not be what it was tomorrow.
BeBee is a microcosm of the world we live in.
There will always be misunderstandings and differences of opinion. We will be both liked and disliked at the same time.
If we can't learn to live peacefully in a social network that is based on affinity, how the hell do we expect to do it in the real world?
It's a discouraging analogy. But, it's more than that -- it's a harsh reality.
Therefore, I believe we must seize control of what's within our reach. The big, bad world is another story.
We've been afforded the opportunity to become role models and an example of hope in a cyber world. A world we've come to know as beBee.
That, my fellow bees, is within our reach. Let's not blow it.
If we choose to step outside of our comfort zone, we must be prepared to agree to disagree.
* My reference to teddy bears is in no way meant as a thinly veiled attack on my Canadian friend Don Kerr and no teddy bears or kittens were injured during the writing of this buzz.
