Rockford Ice Hogs Announce Trump vs. Clinton Bobblehead Night
Fans and players alike say fist-to-cuffs are essential to the game of hockey, although there is a considerable effort to eliminate fighting from the game.
On Oct. 28, there may be more fist-to-cuffs in the stands than on the ice when the first 2,500 Rockford Ice Hog fans have the opportunity to choose a Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton bobblehead.
But, there'll be no debate.
Which ever one runs out first will be declared the winner.
The Ice Hogs, an affiliate of the Chicago Blackhwaks since 2007, play in the American Hockey League and sport an average attendance of 5,000 per game.

Since affiliating with the Blackhawks, 22 Ice Hog players have been a vital part of at least one of the three Stanley Cup Championship teams, playing during the 2010, 2013, and 2015 seasons.

Rockford, Illinois, is located 90 miles northwest of Chicago. The Ice Hogs play in the BMO Harris Bank Center. The team conducts an annual game-worn jersey auction, which, to date, has raised $890,000 for local charities.
In June, the team signed a 5-year extension, securing their affiliation with the Chicago Blackhawks through the 2021-22 season. Rockford is my hometown and my current place of residence.
