Backlinks are the most effective signals for ranking any website on Google, Bing, Yahoo, etc. A website can't rank without backlinks. Let's understand it with an example: Suppose I'm a doctor and I know the accurate treatment of coronavirus which is spreading tremendously around the world. But if I don't do my promotion or don't spread awareness about my treatment and medicines, will anybody know about me? The answer is no.

This is exactly in the case of websites. If a website has quality content that is interesting and engaging, but I didn't create any backlinks for my website, then how can people came to know about my website. So to fill this gap of awareness and promotion, we create backlinks.

But some of the guest post sites may demand the money for do-follow links. But according to my personal experience, avoid such sites who demand money. Simply search for other free guest post sites who can accept guest articles and try to contact them through the mail with interesting article subjects.

And in the last, don’t use any backlink builder tools or apps such as Rident, etc. They create spammy links by creating backlinks on several high spammy sites at one shot, that can harm your website.

My Personal Experience

Now I’m sharing my own personal experience for my company site https://www.escalesolutions.com for which I have used the Rident app (available on Play Store, IOS store, etc.) for creating backlinks. When I check the backlink report received on my mail from the Rident app, I totally get shocked, as many sites on which they created backlinks for my site were having spam scores more than 40% and their DA (Domain Authority) were below 16. This activity harmed my website so that it’s DA decreased by 10 and the spam score increased by 15%.

Then I used the disavow tool in Google Search Console for avoiding these links from Google.

Moral of the story: Don’t try to create lots of backlinks in less time, try to create quality backlinks on similar niche sites that have high authority domain.
