On this fully-funded degree programme you will attend 4 one-week teaching blocks each year in Sheffield, where accommodation and meals will also be provided. The rest of the year you will be working full-time, gaining valuable experience towards your professional development.
Your role as a Construction Manager will include the following:
With the support of experienced Construction Managers, you’ll be assigned responsibility for a project section or work package, where you’ll manage on-site health and safety and quality, and the establishment and use of environmental restrictions.
The role will include liaising with third parties such as councils and utilities, managing subcontractors, and reporting on the project’s progress.
Kier Building UK covers commercial, education, defence, custodial, leisure and retail including government programmes, large healthcare and multi-sector frameworks, with values ranging from £100k refurbishments to £200m Major Projects. What are the entry requirements?
You must be at least 18 years of age, with GCSE Grade C in both Maths and English plus one of the following:
BTEC National Certificate or Diploma or Extended Diploma in Building, Construction, Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying
Advanced Diploma in Construction or Built Environment
Other level 3 BTEC Certificates or Diplomas will also be considered, preferably with some construction related experience
Mature applicants without formal qualifications will be considered on merit, taking into account relevant work experience (you'll need at least five years’ experience under your belt) and previous qualifications.
