Our client is Leicestershire are looking to add an Account Director to their team.
Our client are looking for someone who has been a successful line manager of a sizeable team for at least 3 years
- a real people person who has a passion for their teams success, morale and development.
The AD must be adept and have previous experience of budgeting, forecasting and ideally managing their own P&L account.
They must have a proven track record of looking for and developing existing client account opportunities for new business pipeline.
A minimum of seven years in the event industry working as an event planner.
Ideally pharma but if they tick all the other boxes.
Ideally office based but for the right candidate our client will consider some days working remote.
Job Purpose:
To manage and develop existing and new accounts and client relationships to their full potential.
To oversee a large team of event planners at various levels who manage profitable, prestigious client events globally.
To manage, train and develop the account team to meet individuals' needs and company's business objectives.
To budget and forecast and manage teams P&L.
Client Liaison and Account Development
Responsible for managing the team in the delivery of all events, meeting the clients' business objectives in line with the company's quality and service levels
Maintaining close liaison with key client contacts working in partnership with them to meet their business objectives
Growing key accounts in line with the business development strategy agreed with the Business Development team and Sales Support
Taking ownership and responsibility for growth of non-key accounts in line with agreed business plan targets
Advise clients on the best event strategy and means to achieve their business objectives from a programme, message delivery, content and communications perspective for all events
Delivering quality events that make a real impact
Working with the Business development team and Marketing department to promote new services
Gather knowledge of clients' products in order to benefit the quality of projects operated, and achieve a better understanding of the clients business, and communicate relevant information to the team
Manage Client Review Meetings: process/preparation of materials and reporting
Planning strategic content and execution of Capabilities/Credentials Presentations
Client forecasting and budgeting
Responsible for delivery of all events in accordance with regulatory and client defined compliance guidelines, SLAs and other contract terms
Thorough understand of clients MSAs and SLAs
Overall responsibility for delivery of RFPs, proposals and presentations within allocated accounts with support from Sales Support where necessary
On-site attendance at pre-defined key events within allocated accounts
Staff Development, Motivation and Management
Managing and overseeing the planning, resources and implementation of events with the business unit, using the support of service departments and external resources
Motivating, training and developing business unit with the support of the Head of Operational Excellence in line with staff development plans
Training and developing account team with support of the Operations Director, in line with client relationships and the business development plans
Exercising management support and guidance over the business unit, to achieve their operational objectives through encouraging, advising and liaising with them
Responsible for ensuring project 'kick off' and post event debrief meetings are taking place in line with company standard operating procedures
Implementing and monitoring the use of company standard operating procedures for all events
Ensure that all new staff are correctly inducted and allocated a company mentor/buddy when they start, liaising with the Head of Operational Excellence
Ensure the completion of appraisals for all members of the Business Unit, in line with company policy and in conjunction with Senior Account Managers and Account Managers
Conduct monthly 1:1s with direct line reports
Financial Management and Development
Responsibility for the overall financial management of each event by working closely with direct line reports to ensure the expected revenues and margins are met in line with the agreed contribution target
Producing and updating the monthly business plans and forecasts for confirmed and provisional business
To budget and forecast effectively and manage the team / department P&L
Ensure financial tracking of each event to ensure positive cash flow with the Project Finance team
Responsible for reinforcing the Company's Business Practice Policies on client billing, including closure of the job within the time period stated in client SLA's
Responsibility for authorising the closing of jobs with final sign off by Operations Director
Responsible for meeting and exceeding the team's business plan target and productivity levels
Working closely with the Business Development team on the development of existing accounts to achieve the maximum level of growth
Working with the Head of Live Events in order to increase the proportion of full-service events staged to raise the profile of the Company with existing clients as a full-service agency
Working with the Head of Operational Excellence to ensure staff engagement, morale and development is at the forefront of all direct and non-direct line reports
Reporting activity on a monthly basis
Demonstrate a full understanding of compliance, including ABPI and Pharma Guidelines
Ensure compliance with all company and client policies and procedures
Achieve all client and/or company driven Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for all events
Attendance and contribution at monthly SLT (Senior Leadership Team) and weekly Operation Team meetings
Effective interaction with internal departments
- e.g.
Operations, Venue Finding, Sales Support, Marketing, Travel, IT, Finance and HR
Comply with and monitor all holiday and sickness of your team supported through Workday
Assist in the interview process and comply with company policy with regard to recruitment of operational staff
