Description

Due to the promotion of the existing post holder we have a rare and

exciting opportunity for a part-time Band 2 Administrative & Clerical

Officer to join our Team.


The Shropshire Bowel Cancer Screening Centre has been managing the

screening programme for a population of approximately 482,800 people,

covering the geographical area of Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin

since 2009.


This Service offers a one-off flexible sigmoidoscopy to 55 year olds

and colonoscopies for 60 – 74 year olds.


The successful applicant will join an established, friendly and

professional team, providing high quality care to all screening

participants.


To fulfil this role you will need good communication and

organisational skills, be self-motivated and able to work on your own

initiative and as part of a team. You must have the ability to work

under pressure, prioritise workloads and work to deadlines. Keyboard

skills with experience of data inputting are essential.


The role is primarily general administrative duties, assisting with

the organisation of patient appointments, ensuring all relevant

databases are maintained accurately, retrieving patient case notes and

filing. You will provide administrative support to senior members of

staff, minute taking in the absence of the Co-ordinator and responding

to telephone calls from patients, carers and professional staff.


The screening sites are based at The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital and The

Princess Royal Hospital, Telford. The post holder will be required

to work 22 hours per week flexibly across both sites and will include

evening working; it could also involve weekend working as the service

expands.


As this post requires working across different sites, the ability to

fulfil the travel requirements of the role is essential.
