The Royal College of Art is the UK’s only entirely postgraduate art and design university. In 2018/19 the College will have some 2,300 students registered for MA, MRes, MPhil and PhD degrees and over 450 permanent academic, technical and administrative staff, with more than 1,000 visiting lecturers and professors.
The School of Arts & Humanities is committed to examining the means by which Art is made – the rich array of positions, methods and materials that artists use and have used as well as the subjects, ideas and issues that are successfully articulated by art. At the same time, we offer students the opportunity to develop their own practice in a variety of theoretical and material specialisms. The School has a distinctive and highly innovative research culture.
The College is looking to an Administrator, working five days per week, to support the delivery, coordination, organisation and administration of postgraduate programmes supporting the school general manager and academic staff in pursuit of excellent standards of postgraduate education and an unrivalled student experience. The role will span all elements of administration, across the student lifecycle, including work on planning and development, marketing, admissions, student induction, timetabling, student records, assessment and feedback and examination administration.
It is essential that candidates have administrative experience of working in a busy customer focused environment with the ability to deal with a variety of issues with tact and sensitivity. Candidates will also have excellent communication skills with people at all levels, and have a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. You must have a good level of digital literacy, be proficient in the use of productivity suites such as Microsoft Office or Google for work. Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage and prioritise a heavy workload whilst retaining excellent service standards are also essential required skills.
