And we’re industry-leading in immunology, protein engineering and translational science. We offer a rare and strong collaborative network as part of the AstraZeneca family, as together we explore synergies between small and large molecules.
MedImmune has a dynamic environment that fosters collaboration and innovation. We attract top minds, and we nurture and build top talent. If you’re passionate about the possibilities of science to change lives and you thrive when making brave decisions – join us.
We are seeking a highly motivated Analytical Development Associate Scientist with experience in chromatography and electrophoresis techniques. You will focus on the support of early drug development programmes via supporting the analytical characterisation of novel proteins (from peptides to antibodies), through method development, method qualification, batch release and stability assessment.
This is an exciting opportunity to work within our Global Analytical Sciences Group based at the Medimmune Cambridge facility. You will be joining the team involved in method development, lot release, stability studies, early clinical trial support and technology transfer. With an exciting research pipeline, when could be a better time to develop your career with us?
You will use your existing knowledge to perform analytical testing (using a variety of physicochemical techniques) to assess the quality of MedImmune products for use in formulation, pharmacology and all other applications. As part of this, you will drive the development of new analytical techniques within the Analytical Biotechnology team, by developing, qualifying and trouble-shooting methods for novel protein based products. You will regularly perform routine analytical biochemistry methods; including (but not limited to) chromatographic methodologies, capillary gel electrophoresis and isoelectric focussing.
As a member of the team you will ensure CMC goals and objectives are met. To allow this you will work according to established methods and SOP's to perform testing experiments as required, as well as keep accurate and clear records of all work performed using approved forms and laboratory notebooks in a timely fashion. You will also perform full data processing, tabulation, interpretation and presentation of results from assay work and lead/participate in discussions on how results impact on project goals.
You are expected to implement and promote MedImmune Cambridge's health and safety practices at all times, including the regulations governing COSHH, as detailed in relevant MedImmune risk assessments.
What we need from you:
Significant relevant laboratory-based experience of the following techniques: Chromatography (HPLC, UPLC), gel electrophoresis techniques, Isoelectric Focusing – including method development.
Educated to at least BSc in Life Sciences or similar area.
Experience characterising biologics (peptides/antibodies).
