Position SummaryCCC Language Mentors work in cooperation with CCC ASL Faculty to aid the development of language fluency by creating authentic opportunities to use ASL. Students schedule 30-minute meetings with mentors two times per semester. Meetings focus on material covered in class, and can include topics of conversation typical to classroom settings. Mentors are hired for the current academic year.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Flexible work schedule
- Ability to meet one on one with CCC ASL students, in person in a public place (coffee shop, CCC campus, library etc... or on online (SKYPE, ZOOM or VP)

Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesKnowledge of Signing Naturally curriculum and awareness of language competency levels at various levels of ASL development. Eg. ASL SN Units 1 – 6, ASL 102 SN Units 7 – 9, ASL 201, SN Units 10 – 12

Minimum QualificationsAbility to communicate fluently in ASL
