About London Tax Operations

The Team comprises of 15 staff covering Financial Transaction Tax (FFT), International Tax, FATCA (Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act) Client Classification and Reporting, 871m, Qualified Derivatives Dealer (QDD) and US QI Regulations. The main responsibilities involve assisting in managing the firm’s equity inventory over dividend dates, and  ensuring that Regulatory tax returns, withholding and reporting obligations for the above mentioned products and taxes are met in a timely and accurate manner, thus upholding the firm’s reputation with the Tax Authorities.

The Firm has experienced a fast-paced changing landscape within the US Tax Regulation space over the past 18 months, with significant and continuous momentum expected over the next 2-3 years. This has resulted in an aggressive Change plan to develop processes and system architecture in order to manage Risk accordingly. As a result of this, and other Firm-wide initiatives such as the Barclays’ response to Brexit, the team is expected to grow.
