We are currently looking for a number two to our General Manager at very busy and vibrant Central Market at Royal Victoria Place, in Royal Tunbridge Wells.

Central Market is exciting new street food and entertainment venue now open here at Royal Victoria Place. The new venue has taken over Ely Court to offer shoppers and locals an exciting dining and live music experience right here in the heart of Tunbridge Wells.

You’ll find an amazing selection of international cuisines on offer and all under one roof. The line-up of gourmet street food includes; The Argentinian Grill, Pizzeria, Indian specialities, Sushi and Thai, Gourmet Burgers and Hot Dogs, Ice cream and Desert Bars, Chocolatier and Coffee Bar. Plus there’s a fully stocked Beer Bar and Wine Bar to enjoy.

Position Overview

You will act as no.2 to our General Manager and you will be at the core of our operations. Passionate and driven, they are the link between guests, vendors and our staff and you will help creating the infectious buzz. They are skilfully trained to pass on their knowledge and never lose sight of their ultimate responsibility – to bring the most amazing experience to all of our guests.

Scope of the role, responsabilities and physical requirements

The lifestyle of the Assistant General Manager always demand high levels of energy and positive outlook. You will need to show consistency in ever changing environment, you will need to be able to overcome challenges in creative and constructive way. You will be a great listeners for you will be the one to relay guest expectations, but also the one to first handle and support all the staff. The key operational duties include:

- Creating guest experiences and building relationships. To ensure the consistency in the speed of service.

- Dealing with staff requests, vendors issues, managing the daily operation of the market.

- You will also be expected to resolve any issues that arose among the vendors, staff members or guests.

- Communication is what keeps our departments operating smoothly

- You will need to act as an ambassador of our brand.

Qualifications and Personal Qualities

Our Managers are flexible, passionate, eager to learn and driven to provide best service. We also expect them to inject the passion in all employees and being able to create the real team spirit. They need to be able to take ownership and believe in what they do.

- We expect our Managers to have at least 2 years of experience working in service

- Our Managers need to be fluent in English

- Our Managers need to be passionate about food and beverage, casual dining, pop-up culture and being aware of the current trends
